  • Player suddenly not called up to the NT because he isn't playing for a big enough club

    Description of issue

    A player who had been receiving regular NT call-ups for almost two years now suddenly isn't playing for a big enough club to deserve to be called up.

    I think this is just club reputation messing with the call-ups as that player got his first call-up and cap while playing for Benfica B in the Portuguese second tier (he had just a few first team appearances at that point) and he continued to be called up when he was on loan at my club last season. But now, when I exercised my option to buy, he suddenly needs to switch clubs to receive his call-up despite having improved since the last international break and despite playing better than ever.
