As Kenankodro explains, the overseas teams in the French Cup recognize the players as foreigners despite having half a French squad.

The same thing happens to me with teams in the Guadeloupe league

Also comment that in the specific case of the Caribbean teams, they enter the 8th round of the French Cup, and not the 7th as they do in the game. Only the champion of the French Cup of each competition enters, Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guyana
