I believe that there is a slight exploit in the rules for using trialists in League 1 & League 2. In these divisions, it is possible to play 2 trialists for most of the season (up to 1st April which I believe is correctly coded).

The rules on what constitutes a trialist are quite complex and difficult to read but essentially, your registration can't be held by another footballing association. In essence, this means that if you are under contract at a club outside the country, you can't play as a trialist and you would need to transfer under the loan rules for a temporary rule.

Currently, this is not the case and it is easy to sign transfer listed players in other countries, throughout the season.
