  • Cannot apply zonal marking when defending free kicks

    I only have option for 'player mark' or 'go back' when defending free kicks?

    If playing with a target man or a tall attacker who isn't the best at marking, I like to put them in the nearest zonal marking position to be the 'first man' the opposition ball needs to beat when defending, with other defenders being responsible for man marking or zonal marking in more crowded areas.

    I can do this when defending corners or throw-ins but not for free kicks for some reason.

    Hi, Zonal Instructions for free kicks are only available when selecting a deep defensive line for wide free kicks.

    This is because the zonal instructions are set for the 6 yard box so wouldn't work for defending free kicks from deep or in some wide areas.

    Thanks, makes sense, at first glance it seems functionality has been removed but it's just been applied more logically with the defensive line addition.
