    Description of issue

    Hi,

    As the title suggests, the AI are not using substitutions this season and it is killing the game for me. Having massively enjoyed Football Manager 2023 on Game Pass, I decided to pre-purchase Football Manager 2024 from Steam to get early access, having been sold on all the promises given for this game. Now 13 days after full release, I am still not playing the game since the AI do not make substitutions which is affecting the realism of the game and giving myself an unfair advantage.

    Even as I pre-ordered this game for early access, I expected to face bugs early on - which has become expected of each release for this game, but I did not expect such a game-breaking bug like no AI substitutions to remain past early access.

    I feel cheated having pre-purchased the game and not even playing it to this day. Right now I am frequently searching for patch notes hoping for this bug to be fixed, and with every update, I test a game to see if the issue has been resolved and to no avail.

    Attached is a test match PKM for a test save to see if the latest patch 24.1.1 (from 13th November) has resolved the issue, which it hasn't. This is from a new saved game I created on 19th November to see if the issue was only occuring from a early-access saved file, but turns out it is affecting both saves. The opposition made 0 substitutions in a friendly match, which in previous games often sees plenty of substitutions to improve player fitness and test performance. This was played with comprehensive hightlights and is not based off of a Football Manager 2023 save. This was also based off of the Your World game mode. setting.

    Second this, AI only makes 1 subtitution during my 5 friendly preseason games, and that was because of injury, another player has minor injury during another game (has injury icon) but still played until the end of the game eventhough they have named 15 substitution and have use none, it makes no sense.

     

    My U21 and U18 (handled by my U21 manager and U18 is handled by my assistant manager) also makes no substitution unless there is an injury, is there a setting that i should change to allow them to make substitution or is it a bug?

     

    Also in intraclub games (the first and second team friendlies during the start of career) i have choose 15 substitution but only 7 was named in the match (ramdom players), it only happen if i manage the team, both the first and second, but doesn't happen if i let my assistant handles it.

    Hello, thank you for the detailed information, this is a known issue we have under review.

    Improvements to AI substitutions will be included in our next game update.

    Hello, after the last update the first team substitution is getting better but the U21 and U18 are still the same, my U21 and U18 use the same squad every match without any rotation despite having an almost comparable second team, hardly doing any substitution and it affects the growth of the youth since only some of them are actually getting match experience especially in U21 and the one that regularly is too tired to train properly. Please fix the rotation and substitution logic for the youth team too, thank you.
