    Irish Football Association Youth Challenge Cup Rules

    Date of Application - Application for permission to compete in the Competition, accompanied by the entry fee of £10.00 shall be made not later than 15th day of August each Season

    Substitutions.  - A Club may at its discretion, use three substitute players at any time in any tie, except to replace players who have been expelled by the referee. The substitutions can only be made when play is stopped for any reason and the referee has given permission. Only three substitutions by each side will be permitted in any tie and a maximum of five substitute players may be nominated prior to the commencement of the tie. A fourth substitute may take part exclusively during extra time in all rounds of the competition 

    Eligible Players. - To be eligible to play in the Competition players must be registered to play for their Club in their respective league competitions (via Comet FMS). No player shall be eligible to play in this Competition for more than one Club in the same season.

    Ineligible Players. - (a) No player shall be eligible to take part who is 18 years of age or older before the 1st day of January in the year in which the competition commences. (b) A professional shall not be allowed to take part in the Youth Cup Competition. 

    Draw - (b) The Committee may draw subsequent round or rounds before the winners of the previous rounds have been declared. The Committee shall have power to exempt any number of Clubs from any number of rounds, and byes may be given so that the required number of clubs is obtained. (c) In the event of a club getting a bye in any of the drawings, the Committee at the subsequent drawing, shall first draw a Club to play against it from the lot, the two shall again be put in the ballot-box and again drawn, and the club first out of the box shall have choice of ground, but the Committee may so arrange that four clubs compete in the semi-finals. (d) The teams which are in each instance first drawn in the ballot and known as the “Home Team” shall play on the ground registered with the Association. The second drawn team shall be known as the “Away Team”. 

    Venue for Semi Finals and Final Tie. - The venues for the Semi Finals and Final Ties shall be decided by the Committee and shall be neutral. However, if the competing Clubs are in agreement the Committee may permit the match to be played on the ground of either of the Clubs concerned. 

     Medals. - The Association will present medals only to the participants in the final tie.  For the avoidance of any doubt this shall include the 16 players.  

    Division of Receipts. - In all Competition matches, with the exception of the semi-finals and Final, the Club on whose ground the match is played shall take the receipts and pay all expenses. In case the expenses in semi-finals exceed the receipts, the deficit shall be taken from the final tie receipts, same being considered expenses of match.  

    Division of Semi-final receipts. -  In the semi-final ties the nett receipts shall be divided as follows: 10% to the Association and the balance divided equally amongst the competing clubs.  

    Division of Final Tie receipts. - In the Final Tie, the receipts shall be divided as follows: 10% to the Association and balance divided equally amongst the competing clubs.

    While I appreciate all the info you've given us, we're not actually sure what you're telling us is wrong currently in game?

    Apologies if I'm missing the obvious, but could you spell it out to me? :D

    No under 18 Cup in game.

    as per 2021/22 season

    1 round 16 games  12 DBPL u18's enter as well as Maiden City U1, Loughgall U18, Rosario YC U18, Craigavon City U19, Ballyclare Comrades U18, Lisnaskea Rovers U18 Mountjoy United U18, Bangor U18, Ballymoney United U18, St Oliver Plunkett U18, Moyola Park Youth, Ballinamallard United U18, Fivemiletown United U19, Dundela U18, Ards U18, Limavady United U18.

    Celtic Bhoys Academy, St. Mary's (Newtownabbey) U18/U19, Berlin Swifts (Unsure if they are in game)

    2 round 8 games 

    3 round 4 games

    4 round 2 games

    5 round 1 game

    Current format with less teams possible due to Covid  Youth Cup 21 - 22

    Youth Cup 2019-20 format was R1 5 games R2 16 games R3 8 gmaes then Quarter-finals, Semis and Finals

    Youth Cup-2018-19 format was R1 15 games R2 8 games then Quarter-finals, Semis and Finals 

    hopefully that is easier to understand
