Game crashing after 23.2 patch

Delete your "skin" folder. Reload FM and use the default skin (no other skin should be in this folder) until your custom skin is updated for the new FM version.

Dear developers, I tried deleting the contents of the following folders:

C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2023

C:\Users\(username)\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2023

Then the game stopped crashing. But I would like to know a simpler solution, if available. Thanks guys

I am using the custom facepack and logo pack I downloaded from FM Blog.

I also delete the contents of
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2023\data\game\movies
to make the loading faster at game launch.

It appears that whenever I load a new skin, the game will crash if the 'movies' folder is empty.

If 'movies' folder contains at least 1 file, the game will not crash when I load a new skin.

This did not happen in the 23.1 patch.  Choose you have a look into this. Thank you

 

 

The game is setup to run with a default setup - if people are purposely removing files which should not be removed and it's crashing, that's not something we're in a position to fix. Our recommendation is very much to not remove any existing game files from the installed folders.
