I got to this club and this player wouldn't sign a new contract because was upset, but there was no way to discuss the issue with him and change his mind even though the manager who upset him was gone.

Eventually he came to me asking to be loaned out, which was odd considering his contract was about to expire. I promised him more playing time in the hopes that this would make him happy enough to sign a new contract, but there didn't seem to be any connection between my promise and his unhappiness which remained.

Then he got a longterm injury and there's not even a way to speak with him about the injury like normal.

So from start to finish the interactions with this player have been pretty frustratingly nonsensical and it looks like I'll be shelling out 7k to treat him as he leaves on a free regardless...

The little rectangle noting his concern is gone and the in-progress promise says he's happy with his playing time thus far (I started him in the one game between the promise being made and his long-term injury), but I still can't offer him a contract, because he says he's waiting to see if I fulfill the promise, but the promise doesn't end until after his contract expires! Also, you'd think an aging player with a longterm injury would jump at the chance for a contract renewal regardless.

How can I work around this? Will he leave on a free and then refuse to re-sign?

Thank you for the save file and info. We will put under review.

Would appreciate any insight you have on what's *supposed* to be happening here, ie if he's not interested in re-signing because of a bug I'll use the in-game editor to avoid losing him.
