1) enter contract negotiations to sign a player. They are demanding a wage that you cannot offer (over the board’s limit), but you can lower the demand to something you can offer and they might accept, if other bonuses and/or enough negotiations are done.
2) the player’s initial demand includes a match highest earner clause, which you cannot include because they wouldn’t be the highest earner with the board’s limit on the wage you can offer. This is not locked.
3) you remove the match highest earner clause (this is a misclick, instead of removing and excluding from negotiation)
4) there is now no further option to interact with the match highest earner clause because you cannot offer a wage that would make them the highest earner. It remains as removed, but not excluded.
5) when you offer your first negotiation, the player responds by locking the match highest earner demand, which you cannot include, so you have to walk away from negotiations.
6) thus, negotiations have failed due to a misclick, and there is nothing you can do once you have misclicked. This
is a bug as the misclick is not submitting an offer/negotiation.
