Received Scouting update about a contract being offered to a player 1 month after he signed it

The report did generate on the correct date - the report was generated earlier, but wasn't due to be sent out until the date shown.

You can changes these settings to have the updates direct to your inbox as soon as they're ready.

Ok. Found the place to set it up. Maybe default should send to inbox, as most players won't find this I guess.
