ᶊᴉᴉ˧
Well assistants can cover a lot of duties within the game to make things generally easier but also give good team advice depending who it is. I don't know what kind of affect it would have on effect if any but generally I would have and assistant.
Smudge249
I would say yes. As ᶊᴉᴉᴋᵕᵣḕᶺᴵ says they can make things easier and if you have a good one their advice in invaluable.
Elrithral
Please can you ask the full question in the title of the thread? Saves people opening threads that they have no interest in or don't know the answer to. It's not necessary to have an ass man, but it's preferable that you do. Team talk suggestions, press conferences etc can be handled by him if you don't fancy doing it yourself. Also without an ass man you cannot tick "interested players" in the player search screen. Koki
I tend to believe that AM also have an effect on team morale and discipline. But that's just my opinion. Sometimes your AM warns you about players becoming unhappy.
phnompenhandy
I never use him for teamtalks or press confs, but his in-match advice and reports are pretty important IMO. I wouldn't advice going without one. They dont have to have the rep or salary of Pat Rice though!

In particular, international management is still fairly easy - I won the African Cup of Nations with Ghana without an ass man, and when I did remember to sign one, he didn't really do anything. However it's definitely worthwhile having one in club management as they tend to give you quite a few hints about your team.
