swisso
Club Information Background picture if you want it! Full name: LOSC Lille Metropole Founded: 1944 Ground: Stadium Lille Metropole (18,086 seats) Chairman: Michel Seydoux Based in the northern city of Lille and founded in 1944 from the merger of the Olympique Lillois (founded in 1902) and the SC Fives (founded in 1901). The club is expected to move into 50,186 capacity Stade Borne de l'Espoir in 2012 and leave their current ground. Lille enjoy a fierce rivalry with their neighbour Racing Club de Lens and finished strongly in Ligue1 in the 2004-2005 season finishing 2nd to Lyon, following this up with a 3rd placed finish in 2005-2006. The goals dried up for Lille in the next 2 seasons and they subsequently missed out on Europe in the 2007-2008 season by finishing 1 point off the UEFA and Intertoto Cup places. First Team Squad Goalkeepers ---------------- Ludovic Butelle Grégory Malicki Alexandre Oukidja Defenders ---------------- Peter Franquart Jerry Vandam Badis Lebbihi Michel Bastos Emerson Conceição Franck Beria Adil Rami Grégory Tafforeau Nicolas Plestan Midfielders ---------------- Stéphane Dumont Florent Balmont Yohan Cabaye Ludovic Obraniak Mathieu Debuchy Brian Obino Omar Benzerga Rio Mavuba Eden Hazard Yannis Salibur Forwards ---------------- Túlio de Melo Nicolas Fauvergue Róbert Vittek Givestin N'Suki Zantu Pierre-Alain Frau Squad Analysis Goalkeeper ---------------- Current - Malicki will suffice for a season, but at 34 he needs to be replaced. Future - Monaco often get relegated in the 1st season so Stephane Ruffier can be bought for around £2-3million and is a good prospect. Vincent Enyeama is also a good prospect for the 1st season if you feel Malicki needs replacing asap. None of the Youth Goalkeepers at Lille are worth keeping. Defence ---------------- Current - Tafforeau is the strongest Left Back, with Emerson providing adaquete cover for now. Tafforeau's advancing years mean you should look to strengthen the Left-Back slot. Alternatively, Bastos can play Left-Back too. Centre-back is the strongest position with Adil Rami a first choice and Nicholas Plestan and Aurelien Chedjou filling the other DC slot. Right-Back can be filled by Franck Beria for now, but you should to strengthen this slot as Jerry Vandam can't be relied on. Future - Cheik M'Bengue from Toulouse and Vincent Muratori from Monaco are 2 of the brightest Left-Back talents you can hope to aquire. Muratori is available for around £2million if Monaco are relegated. For another DC, Ivan Ivanov can be picked up for around £1.3million to stengthen the centre of defence. As for Right-Back, Daniel Opare can be purchased for £200,000 after the 1st season and can be nutured into the 1st choice RB. Midfield ---------------- Current - Wingers are absent in the Lille squad with most of the strength based in the centre with the excellent Cabaye and Mavuba playing the holding roles or pushing up to MC if needed. Bastos is an excellent Left-Midfielder or Attacking Left Midfielder but the right side is lacking in quality. Obraniak and Debuchy can play on the right if needed, but you should look to strengthen this positition. Creativity and Flair is severely lacking in Midfield and needs addressing. Emil Lyng and Yanis Salibur are rated as good prospects on both wings from the youth side but will need nuturing. Future - Per Ciljan Skjelbred from Rosenborg can be signed for £2million, giving some creative injection into an otherwise hard-working midfield. Florin Bratu can also be signed for £1.8million giving some much needed quality down the right flank. Skjelbred is a good prospect for the future and will inevitably attract large bids as the seasons progress. Mota from Seongnam can also be picked up for around £2million and able to play on both wings. Eden Hazard has the potential to be one of the best players at Lille and you should carefully nuture him along. Omar Benzerga is also a good youth prospect in the DMC position. Forwards ---------------- Current - The weakest position for Lille with Tulio di Meio and Fauvergue inadaquete for a European-placed-finish. You should look to strengthen this position. Future - Florin Bratu will fill in the Forward slot superbly if needed. Daniel Aquino is another excellent choice, but won't be ready to lead the line alone just yet. Raul Nava is another excellent youth prospect and can be picked for less than £100,000. Recomended Formation ---------------- Tylerbodes V6/Piranha tactic is an excellent choice for a 1st season Lille side. I recommend dropping a forward back into an AMC slot and attempting to sign a suitable AMC with some creativity, or keeping the 2 forwards and signing a new forward to play alongside Tuilo. First Season advice Finances will be VERY tight. The clubs 13,000 Season Ticket holders from an 18,000 seater stadium mean that Gate Receipts will be incredibly small. So small in fact that you'll probably receive around £75,000 per home league match, bringing around £1.5million for the season. So it's important to minimise the inevitable monthly losses by getting rid of any dead-wood (theres plenty of poor reserve players you can offload) for as much as you can get. Finances will be tight for at least 3 seasons until Lille move into their new 50,000 seater stadium and you can reap the rewards of bigger attendances and more Season Ticket income. 7th place is predicted by the media and the board request a top-table finish and i think this is acheivable. A strong midfield and 1 or 2 key signings in defence and attack should put you in the "best of the rest" category with only Lyon, Marseille, PSG and Bordeaux better than you. You should be aiming for the low European-placed-finishes. I'd advise against selling Cabaye, Mavuba and Rami straight away. Try to resist any bids until at least 1-2 seasons have passed and they're worth more. Good luck!
swisso
I had tremendous success with Tylerbodes tactic in my 1st season. Won the League! Scoring was a big problem as i predicted, but the steely defence was the best in the League and there was a lot of narrow 1-0 wins as well as a Cup final loss to Toulouse. First season transfers was as follows: Skjelbred, Ivanov and Bratu proved to be inspired signings, Bratu bagged 10 goals on the wing and Skjelbred came in with 12 assists overall. Monaco, Grenoble and Valenciennes were relegated so i made a dash for Feghouli, Ruffier and Haruna and signed Schneiderlin from the relegated Southampton, Opare from Real Madrid and Aquino for £2mill up front and £5mill over 2 years. I'm in the process of selling Tulio and a number of 1st teamers who were on the fringes to get my bank balance up!

swisso
Nice OP and very nice first season mate. Well done. How did Lyon do, buy/sell maybe? Lyon finished 2nd with 77 points and signed Higuain first season! 2nd season they've spent £27million on M'Bia, Briand, Fofana and Nene. All dodgy buys in my opinion! Capoue and Sisoko at Toulouse are much better DMC prospects and i'm going for 1 of them myself after losing Skjelbred to Barcelona for £8.25million But at least it's 6million profit
Purefun
Capoue your best bet mate.
swisso
Capoue your best bet mate. Yeah he looks the better bet. I might try for both of them and Cheik M'Bengue for LB once my Champions League money comes in I just figured out a flaw in the Friendly League option too that allows you to keep most of the Gate Receipts despite pledging some of them to the opposition teams. Invite 3 world-class teams, say, Real Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona from Spain, offer 1 of them a good % of the gate receipts so they'll accept, but give the other 2 nothing so they'll reject. Once the 1 club accepts, edit the Friendly again and that 1 club is now there, with 2 vacant spots. Offer another team a good % of the gate so they'll accept and give the last remaining team nothing, so they'll reject. Once you have 2 clubs who've accepted, edit the Friendly again and invite the last and 3rd team. You'll notice the other 2 teams will now play for free since the game hasn't remembered that you offered them money earlier. Give the 3rd team enough so they'll accept the friendly. Excellent way to raise a couple of million and keep at least 2/3 of it ! I stand to raise almost £1.5million from this 3 team League, which is what i made ALL season from Ligue1 games! swisso
I'm startting as Lille also, keep you'll posted Brilliant If you wait until season 2, Remy Riu (GK from Auxerre) and Stephane Ruffier (GK from Monaco) are available as Monaco normally get relegated and Riu wants to leave Auxerre. Two good Ligue 1 Keepers there! I've just signed Capoue for £11million after selling Skjelbred for £8.25 to Barcelona. Champions League money should boost the finances some more
Purefun
Hefty fee for Capoue.
swisso
Hefty fee for Capoue. Yeah He's worth £5mill but rated as better than Mavuba and Cabaye so i figure i can sell one of them later and make up the £11mill

swisso
Terrible 2nd Season Sitting 8th in Ligue1 after 13 games with w4 d6 l3 I think i tried to change too much too soon, none of the players seem to be gelling and some of the stars of last season are underperforming! Going to bide my time and wait for the Champions League revenue to come in and raid Brazil for 1 of Kerrison/Dentinho/Marquinhos to help get some goals!
