isuckatfm
Closing down = distance from ball carrier at which to trigger close down Tight marking = shorten distance when picking up Note that the way marking is coded this will not cause your defenders to break shape and track tightly high up the pitch consistently. Only specific marking will do this. 2 other considerations with closing down - defensive line = where back 4 drop to relative to where opposition has possession - mentality affects where to position when opposition has possession (e.g. a lower mentality MC will drop deeper) Both of these impact on the close down decision as they affect separation from opposition and by extension, separation from the ballcarrier at any given moment.
