deejay10
I just saw a Sky Sports News bit on Kolo Toure, where they showed his stats for the season. He won approx 44% of headers, and 73% of tackles. Yet in the game I regularly see both teams in a match finish with over 90% tackle success rate. It seems like whenever my strikers get the ball into feet they are comfortably tackled by the oppositions defence, time and time again, no matter what the defensive attributes. Even attacking players like Ronaldino, Jovetic, win a high percentage of tackles they attempt, its a bit unrealistic. Hasn't anyone noticed this ? el sid
I think there's a difference between what Skysports defines as tackling and what FM defines as tackling, but this is just my guess.
deejay10
What about the 44% headers won stat ? Or 'aerial challenges' as Sky Sports put it. Now if you looked at Toure's FM stats, his headers won would be much higher than that.
InterWolf
I'm sure if you looked at it 'normally' you'd expect a decent defender to win over half of the headers he can compete for, so it is probably a generous definition of what he is "challenging" for. Kenwyne
It would be nice if this tackling success was represented on the 3D, as opposed to the constant 'out-muscle opponent off the ball, win ball, then stand still until opponent recovers ball back' happening. r0x0r
With the headers, Sky Sports almost certainly only include situations where someone else challenges for the header, while FM considers a header to be won even if it's a free header.
deejay10
That might explain things. I wish FM would include the more detailed OPTA stats that the premier league has IRL.
