polat_dgn
Really just wondered, i have never played with Liverpool but nearly in my every save game, he is elected the World Player of the Year in my first season and following seasons enters in first 3, so just wondered.. TheFuzzyOne
As a United fan, this pains me so, but he is one of the best strikers in the world. (he still hasn't scored against us yet. AHA!)
Purefun
He is great yes. He is in the top three imo (on the game).
polat_dgn
the thing is his stats dont look so great, interesting..
Scott08
No he's not. Adebayor, Benzema, Aguero, Ibrahimovic, Bojan would all get the nod above him from me. Yes i'm a Man United fan but i have had experiences with him. I found him less consistent than the above.

Jamie17
Benzema just take a while to settle in but when he does he is amazing he scores around 40 goals for my Real Madrid team. Anyway I would say the best strikers on the game are Benzema, Bojan and Aguero.
theincrediblehulk
The best striker on the game? No. I dont think anyone comes close to Adebayor on the latest patch. But he is bloody good none-the-less. Watch out for him on the next FM though. He's gonna be unstoppable.
polat_dgn
Originally posted by theincrediblehulk: Watch out for him on the next FM though. He's gonna be unstoppable. i quite agree with that. Just look at how they did Adebayor in 8.0.2 , probably Torres gonna be the best in FM09 after this performance in last season..
theincrediblehulk
Well, thats how SI does it - on current form. When the final patch came out, Adebayor was on fire in the league and ripping teams apart. After that, Torres has been doing it. So there will definitely be a massive increase in his stats. Watch for players who do well in Euro 2008 as well. Again, you will see a massive jump in stats.

Bluenose_92
on '09 Torres will be a demon, end of discussion at the moment he is just pretty good on the game, although, his stats are far better than they were on FM07 and he scored loads for me on that
Natedog17
Torres is a quality player and scores loads but id have to say that Adebayor is the best striker in the game

He'll have to play VERY, VERY poorly for him not to get a massive stat boost tbh. Maybe like miss 10 tap-ins a game and score a couple of own goals or something. Even if he does just ok and nothing special, he'll still be increased a lot. I'm looking forward to what they do with Podolski though. He's already started well and if he continues, wonder how they'll gauge him. He didnt get to play at Bayern but if he does well at Euro 08, might be hard to call on how his stats should go! YesYesOhYay
i wouldnt say he was the best but he is GREAT
theincrediblehulk
Podolski is a -9 IIRC. And he can be very average at times. I think the kid has a lot of potential and usually does well when given a run of games. Hes just unfortunate to be stuck at Bayern behind Klose and Toni who are both awesome. polat_dgn
in my honest opinion, 3 best strikers in the game: Aguero, Bojan , Torres .
kopsy101
everytime i always buy aguero and he is really really great but torres is better. bojan is always outstanding in 5-6 years time. adebayor is great too. benzema is good but not worst of the 5 torres is on par with bojan at peak
kopsy101
soz about double post but i just want to point out torres improves a lot. his finishing is 19, dribbling 17, same with first touch
RufftyMan
i've not had a lot of strikers (i play as Liverpool) but for me, Torres is the best striker by far i've had. Every season (into my 5th year) he has scored 50+ goals in all competitions without fail and wins numerous awards. Bojan i have as understudy, but for the way he plays, i just couldn't imagine myself dropping him from my team
War Eagle 34
Don't laugh, but Fraizer Campbell is a GREAT striker for my Wigan team on loan for an entire season. He's had several hat-tricks and scores for fun, even as a lone striker up front.
golfpunk
Yeah Torres is up there for definite. You may also laugh at this one but Danny Haynes has consistently scored 30+ goals for me every season (still with Ipswich) and I play Champs League football every season and am always up there in the title race. His stats don't reflect how good he is in the game but probably reflect how good he is irl. If you get what i mean
Ivan-NUFC
no, he is incredibly underated
Steve_Flares
I signed him for £80m in 2012 and sold him the next season. he scored 9 goals for me and was on £125k a week.. i wouldnt buy him ever again after that. Adebayor is still banging them in for me and he's 33. He's scored no less than 35 goals a season since i've been manager.
uyk_RA
palacio is great as lone striker
Storm14
torres is a demon but rossi is better...rossi never miss
