ElQuapo
I would like to put together an update that gives all the leagues in the game their real names. I know this has been done, but the updates I have seen give the leagues their current sponsor names. What I am looking for is the name leagues are known as historically or what they would be called were they not sponsored. This would be nice, as I personally find it unrealistic that leagues, which in reality might change sponsor names every few years, in the game will be known by their current sponsor name for eternity. I have started compiling a list myself - any help would be much appreciated Europe : European Champions Cup = UEFA Champions League EURO Cup = UEFA Europa League European Super Cup = UEFA Super Cup England : Premier Division = Premier League Coca-Cola Championship = Football League Championship Coca-Cola League 1 = Football League One Coca-Cola League 2 = Football League Two Blue Square Premier = Conference National Blue Square North = Conference North Blue Square South = Conference South Johnstone's Paint Trophy = Football League Trophy Spain : LIGA BBVA = La Liga LIGA adelante = Segunda División Second Division B = Segunda División B Spanish Cup = Copa del Rey Super Cup = Supercopa de España Spanish Federation Cup = Copa Federación de España Denmark : Premier Division = Superligaen First Division = 1. division Second Division East = 2. division Øst Second Division West = 2. division Vest Danish Cup = DBUs Landspokalturnering

JimmyIOCS
Are you making this into an LNC file? If so, are you going to make it available to others? While I'm not sure if I'll use it, I really like this idea. Good thinking.
Pompeyboyz
If you still have it available, you can use the FM09 LNC file with correct league names.....just edit the ones that need editing like the Europa league

If I ever finish it I will make it available :-) If you still have it available, you can use the FM09 LNC file with correct league names.....just edit the ones that need editing like the Europa league But is there one with non-sponsor names? The ones I have seen have the Danish League as "SAS Ligaen", the EPL as "Barclays Premier League" etc.

dave byrd
This has already been done. The weegie update has all the correct comp names. You can just take the inc from that and it works perfectly for FM10. ElQuapo
@Dave That file uses sponsor league names - I am trying to do non-sponsor names It is unrealistic that the leagues have sponsor names, as these change all the time IRL, while in the game for example the EPL will called "Barclays Premier League" for ever and ever... But thanks anyway

Giziar
On a sidenote, I'm always amazed that people in the UK think that La Liga is the correct name for the Primera División. That's about the same as naming the English Premier League something like The League.
ATW
Not as annoying as English people think their league is the only Premier League in Britain - it is because of them so many people think the Premier League is the Scottish Premier League (funny enough our top league being called the Premier League is a lot older than England's - just our owners are younger). But I'm not bitter
