[WIP] FM 2010 Medium (help needed please!)

Hi!

Although SI have kindly supplied us with both a dark and light skin, there have been some people saying that the light is too light and the dark is too dark.

So for those people, and for my own personal use, I am trying to make a version of the skin that is in between the two existing skins.

However, I am very much a skinning novice, and will probably need help in here.

Firstly, I can't see to get the colour of the middle part of this to change;

I know the file I need to edit is Football Manager 2010\skins\fm 2010 medium\graphics\boxes\dialog\paper_middle_middle, however when I edit this to my prefered colour (which is simply by adjusting the brightness of it on Paint.NET) it turns invisible, like on the above screenshot.

Any idea's why this would be?

EDIT: This happens for all paper_middle_middle files, any ideas?
