jkkne
On my game in season 2010/11 Portsmouth have entered administration and lost 9 points as well as being under a PFA Transfer Embargo In the Championship, Middlesbrough are listed as bankrupt yet have only been forced into a transfer embargo by the PFA and there appears to be no forthcoming takeover Is there any reason why Pompey would be listed as bankrupt and enter administration yet Boro would survive? jkkne
Different rules for different leagues. But the Football League is far more harsh than the Premiership If Boro are bankrupt, which the financial status says it is then they should be docked 10 points but for some reason they are getting away with just an embargo

jkkne
Different rules for different leagues. maybe they havent run out of money just yet Then why the PFA Embargo? Seems strange. Pompey came out of administration with an £81m GVA arrangement
x42bn6
maybe they havent run out of money just yet This. When a club goes insolvent or close to it (at least in the eyes of the regulators), then it goes into administration (and you lose 9/10 points depending on which league you are in). Portsmouth in real life are under an embargo but there is no sign they are bankrupt - just that they don't have any cash lying around at the moment. SI Staff Riz Remes Posted November 5, 2009 SI Staff Share Posted November 5, 2009 The points are only docked if the club goes into administration. A club can have a financial status of "In debt" and then be placed under a transfer embargo, which results in their financial status changing to "Bankrupt (under transfer embargo)" which means they are virtually bankrupt and creditors are demanding drastic measures such as player sales to pay off the debts. At this stage there is still some time for the club to try and sort their finances out but any continued financial misfortunes will end up with the club going into administration (financial status will say "Bankrupt (in receivership)") and points being docked.
