MACKIE SUSPENDED FOR EURO SEMI

Darren Mackie has been suspended for one match for his red card against Milan.

He has also been fined a weeks wages for his sending off as hitting an opponent is not acceptable at this level of football.

Gunn has warned Mackie any more behaviour like that and he will be forced to leave the club.

MACKIE FEELS FINE WAS UNFAIR

Darren Mackie spoke to the local paper today telling them how he thought it was unfair that he was fined for being sent off.

The forward made it clear that he had been treated unfairly and told the manager he was considering leaving.

we spoke to Mr Gunn this morning and he had this to say "Darren is being very childish and if he cant accept responsibility for his actions then this is not the club for him."

We held on well but once the first went in the floodgates were open.

It was a hard one for the lads but im not going to point fingers as they have all done so well to get here if it was a league game though they would have been pulled in for extra training as punishment.

We will go into the second leg looking for a win but 3 goals without reply is an impossible task against a club like Juventus.

COULD LIGHTNING STRIKE THE SAME PLACE TWICE ?

The fixtures for the final 5 games has been announced and it looks like the title could be decided on the last game of the season.

The same thing happened last year with Aberdeen beating Celtic on the last day of the season to lift the title.

Here is a quick look at Aberdeens fixtures:-

30.4.05:-Dunfermline,Away

4.5.05:-Livingston,Away

7.5.05:-Rangers,Home

11.5.05:-Juventus,Away

14.5.05:-Hibs,Home

22.5.05:-Celtic,Home

28.5.05:-Motherwell,Hampden

It looks as if the title could go down to the last game of the season both teams have been within touching distance of each other all season and i dont see that changing now.

Both teams have to play the same teams in the run in so it will be tough as Hibs,Rangers and Dunfermline could take points off of either team.

Dunfermline played for the point and they got it,We did have chances to score but we never took them.

Our confidence was dented a bit on Wednesday against Juventus but we hope to recapture that in our up coming games.

Thier keeper was voted man of the match so it shows you how many saves he had to make to keep Dunfermline in it.

We cant drop anymore points if we want to win the league title again and i will drum that into the players heads over the next few weeks.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL

This game brings the curtain down on a long hard season for all teams.

Real Madrid and Juventus are the teams that made it to the glamorous final.

It was a pretty even game and the only diffarence in the first half was the deadly boot of Del Piero. He gave Juve the lead with a brilliant free kick in the 38th minute.

The score stayed like that until well after half time,Birindelli set up Nedved to score from 25 yards out in the 71st minute to give Juve a 2 goal cushion.

The game was even enough the only diffarence being the lethal shooting of Juves flair players.

Juventus hold on and win the game 2-0 and lift the european cup for the second year in a row.

THE FINAL CHAPTER

The point of the story was to take my favourite team Aberdeen and bring sucsess to them like Sir Alex Ferguson done in the 80's.

After 2 seasons and 105 games Aberdeen have certainly got better but are they as good as Fergusons Gothenburg greats ?

The simple answer is no,We are not as good as them although we did bring the fans a bit of glory along the way.

Domesticly we broke the old firm domination in the league and won it twice in a row.A Scottish Cup and League cup victory ensured that in the past two seasons Aberdeen have been the team on everyones lips.

In Europe we had a great run,We managed to get to the semi-final and beat a few good teams along the way.

The euro run was complete when we beat the man that once made Aberdeen great....Sir Alex Ferguson.Beating Man U was probabaly the highlight of the past 2 seasons.

Off the pitch the bank balance looks alot better after 2 years with 20 million in the bank. With the Champions league games this year a massive 15 million profit has been made.

A state of the art training ground is being built and will be ready for pre-season.

To top it off Pittodrie will be expanded next season,We are not sure how much by but the chairman hinted it would hold around 30 000 when done.

After looking at what had happened in the past two seasons it was time to cut my ties with Aberdeen and champ manager. With the release of FM 2005 just round the corner now is a good time to finish the story up and start a fresh new challenge when FM hits the shelves.

If anyone has followed it i hope you enjoyed reading it as much as i enjoyed writing it.

The next few weeks will be time to catch up with the other storys on the board(and possibly borrow some ideas for my next one.)

So until FM,Its goodbye from me

Barry Gunn.

THE END
