Update of sorts...

I'm impressed with the demo, in particular the new training (especially match presentation) and the agents, new contract negotiations and conversations, which if they have meaning long term are a fantastic and long overdue addition.

I've also got in touch with Uncle Ron, who's excellent work enabled me to use his English level 8 set up for this save. He is looking to be ready to be able to release a similar package a few weeks after the release of FM11. Hence, I'll probably start at Newcastle Town, as there is nowhere on the forum that suggests a realistic Italian set up will be released, unless I have missed it.

When I'm doing other things (such as F1 on PS3), then I'll let this save continue in holiday mode like mentioned above. There is at least one more season in me yet, maybe even two or three...

2033/4 - Lincoln City (Championship)

It's nearly the comeback of all time

Board: Mid table

Media: 17th

Bookies: 50-1 (33-1 was the best odds for teams outside the three who were relegated from the Premier League last season - Everton, Southampton and Nottingham Forest)

Season tickets: 3869 (up 368)

The board sign a new kit sponsorship deal for six seasons at £162,000 per season (up £80,890)

They give me a new contract to 2036 on £1700 per week (up £700)

They also improve the training facilities to average and the stadium capacity to 11,620

Martin Bradley and new signing Pablo both get injured in the opening League Cup match and miss two months. We go on to lose our first three games before bouncing back with a 5-2 win at Hull and a 4-3 home win against Everton after being 3-1 down.

We then go on another bad run and prop up everybody else after 11 games.

We start blowing hot and cold with some big wins and defeats including 0-5 at home to Bolton and a 5-0 win at Leeds. We're 16th at halfway.

An eight match winning run led up to a narrow defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup. Good league form continued afterwards and it's a battle going into the last match...

Awesome career, just read through the lot! It'd be nice to see you finally get to the Premiership before you move on to FM11

Thanks Snake, but I've already decided to switch to FM2011.

However, I have retired my manager here and appointed a 'son' to Lincoln, who will 'manage' the club while this save is run in holiday mode while I do other things.

Crikey - Leyton Orient in the Champions League. I used to live 5 minutes away from their ground - the Coach and Horses will be a tad busier before kick off now.

Totally unrealistic though :D Been a season ticket holder there for 15 years now, and any time we sniff any success our pessimistic fans soon knock the confidence out of the players to ensure we don't get any better! ;)

2034/5 - Lincoln City (Championship)

It's where Aaron takes over

Board: Top half

Media: 12th

Bookies: 40-1

Season tickets: ?

I retired after an enjoyable career, particulary enjoying my spells at Northampton and Lincoln. My in game son Aaron took over the reigns at Lincoln and the rookie manager was doing a solid enough job just below mid table. The board viewed otherwise and sacked Aaron with six games to play when sitting in 15th position. Lincoln slumped following Aaron's sacking.

I did save my shortlist for him!

Aaron has taken over at Drogheda United, who are struggling at the foot of the Irish First Division. He has two thirds of the season to turn them round and beat the drop (and therefore the sack as it's the lowest playable Irish league). Should have that season posted in a couple of days or so.

2035 - Drogheda United (First Division)

Aaron gets appointed with the team bottom of the First Division and out of all cups. He managed to raise the hopes of the supporters as they climbed off the bottom but the club slipped back there and lost the relegation playoff against Athlone Town.

With being relegated out of the lowest playable league in Ireland, the sack came at the season update.

2035/6 - Dulwich Hamlet (Isthmian League First Division South)

After the compulsory sack at Drogheda United, a few days later Aaron lands the job at Dulwich Hamlet. The team are doing OK in the league and have been knocked out of all cups.

Aaron makes a terrible start which include a 0-4 defeat at home to Hampton & Richmond and a 0-5 loss at Whyteleafe. He turns things round though a good run to finish the season, one defeat in the last ten see Hamlet rise back to the safety of mid table.

2035-6.jpg

Highest rating: Alex Wood 7.33

Top goalscorer: Dominic Lee 10 in 40 games (10 in 38 league games)

In the close season, Aaron resigned to go to Kettering Town in the division above.
