Dave McNaught was sensationally sold to Inverness for 1 Million Pounds on the eve of the season. Manager Brownley said the deal was good for the club and couldnt stand in McNaughts way. Dave McNaught said it was a great chance for him to play at a higher level and thanked the Dumbarton fans for their support. The fans however turned on McNaught and called him a greedy so and so.

Dumbarton Boss Brownley said he would not be held to ransom in the transfer market. A proposed move for Forfar striker Scott Gemmill has seemingly fallen through. Brownley said "A move seemed possible but the price doubled after we sold McNaught. Clubs think we have loads of money after the transfer but we will not pay over the odds for 2nd rate players. As far as I was concerned a price had been agreed for Gemmill."

Forfar will not be held to ransom either and will not sell players on the cheap the offer encluded a full dozier on a suitable player to fill one of the 3 postions required by the dumbarton manager Thomson also stated that this christmas Forfar will not be sending a xmas card to the sons of the rock!

Despite a slow start at Forfar new manager Thomson was last night quoted in the forfar news as saying"that we wont go up this season but the following season hopfully as all the rest of the managers in division 3 are muppets!"Thomson was not at the club this morning beleived to be on a scouting mission to bring in some new blood.

right guys was messing around with posting tables as you will see above.

a while back we had a few peps in the clan that had different roles from banner maker, someone that posted tables, top score's etc along with someone who just kept a wee eye on mirc and the thread to make sure it wasnt getting to out of hand and more than 2 or 3 people were posting. any volunteers for any of the roles?

and the loons go marching on!

after loosing out in both the league and challange cup things wernt looking bright for forfar till last nights sesion

Sat 18th aug 2012

Albion rvs Cliftonhil 2-2

in a game that saw the away side create far more chances than the home side forfar might be disapointed although it was the 1st point in 3 matches both Williams and moore on the score sheet

sat 25th aug 2012

Stirling Albion Forthbank stadium 4-1

2nd away game against a albion but total change in forfar in was like watching the brazil team of 1970 as they riped stirling apart moore, williams both on score sheet joined by david mckenna and moore again finished the scoring again 15 shots were recorded in the stats table but with a much better % on target mckenna who was in for injured sutherland was man of the match

sat 8th sept 2012

Montrose Station park Forfar 4-1

another game another 4-1 victory after a dull first half that ended 0-0 Forfar came out all guns blazing with new signing F.mclaren coming off the bench to replace the injured Williams scoring a debut hattrick along side moore in reply to the opener scored by montrose's Murray paul flaherty was un lucky not to be man of the match but with mclaren hattrick there was only going to be one winner

sat 15th sept 2012

Ayr United Somerst park 4-0

Another game another 4 goals Williams and moore both hit doubles as ayr were left chasing shaddows there case was not helped by the sending off of lilley in the 37th min

Division Two

Won 2-1 V Airdrie

League leaders Airdrie were rocked 2-1 by Dumbarton. The Sons played ever so well against the team most likely to win the league.

Division Two

Drew 0-0 Away to Brechin

A good solid performance from Dumbarton against Brechin. 0-0 with a good defensive performance against a team who will finish in the top 4 this season.

Division Two

Won 2-1 V Cowdenmbeath

Iain Russell scored a brace to give Dumbarton a comfortable victory against Cowdenbeath. 2-0 up early on Dumbarton pressed for more goals. Alex Walker, returning from injury, had 4 good free-kicks saved by the keeper. If one of those went in Dumbarton would have gone on to score six or seven. However Cowdenbeath pulled one back late on but Dumbarton held on. The scoreline did not do justice to thedifference in quality of the 2 sides. Cowdenbeath will struggle in the bottom reaches of the league this season even though they currently lie in 3rd spot. Ze Fernandes was roundly boo'd by the home support after the Brownley had tried to sign him in the summer but he chose Cowdenbeath.

Dumbarton are in 4th place and I will be disapointed if we dont get a play off spot this season.
