Brian Shanahan
Zanzibar aren't a country they are a semi-autonomous region within Tanzania, it used to be an Arab sultanate (and centre of the slave trade in late 1800's), then a British colony until 1963, then a kngdom until a revolution a few months later, and shortly after that was subsumed into Tanganyika (the country corresponding to the area it controlled as an Arab sultanate). But because of its seperate identity as a colony and country (Tanganyika was originally annexed by Germany) it has it's own FA and league, and sends a representative team to regional soccer torunaments such as the CECAFA cup. Its a bit sad I know but I'm a history buff who also reads World Soccer. P.S. if you look at the map on the Wikipedia page you'll see what the Mafuia did with all their Vegas money:D. Hershie
Cape Verde have produced some very good footballers too. Jorge Andrade, Manuel Fernandes and Nani amongst others where either born there, or are of Cape Verdean decent. Henrik Larsson too iirc.
