to test it, i just played a saved game with fenerbahce and beat chelsea 4-7 in ECL final in normal time.

and this happened after one of my CDs got sent off and i was 1 man down by the 7th minute and i was 3-0 down by the 30th minute. from 3-0, the team came back scoring 7 goals (5 by kezman) and chelsea scored one in the last minute otherwise it would've been 3-7.

i didn't touch anything, didn't substitute any other players to bring in another CD or tweak the tactic. only set new opponent instructions for chelsea subs and substituted 3 of my players with players of same position when they looked tired.

conceptually good tactic. i'll probably do some tweaking in a few other games as i like to giving my attacking AMC (in this case the 2 AMC with forward arrows) and sometimes my strikers more creativity. we'll see, but nice work.

heh, this tactic is nightmare fo Chelsea indeed . I've beat them 10-1 in CL final and Jo scored 5 goals

Also I'm not able to play my wingers (C. Ronaldo especially) as much as I'd liked. I suppose I could just use FMM to make them also fantastic AMCs but where's the fun in that?

Is there a version of this tactic that allows me to use my wingers/attacking midfielders?

Another thought; I've noticed that under "Show onto foot" you have the option of "weaker foot", how does this fair in comparison to the OI you set out earlier, ie; with an AML you'd choose to show onto his right foot.

Kimz, just wanted to thankyou for recommending the Wolfsong team talk guide. I was 2-0 down away at half time to chelsea, came back to win 4-2. Well it would have been 4-2, had the bloody ref blown the whistle after the allocated 4 minutes, but instead he let it go for another 1 minute and Drogba got a consolation goal; 4-3.

Has this happened to anyone else? The ref allows the game to play longer than the injury time? It's annoying to say the least.

But lost 5-4 to Rangers. They had 11 shots, I had 27.

I honestly think I'm on to something here... after some tests I reached the following conclusion: Kimz tactic 2.1 with v1 layout was the best tactic around the forums. But I was not fully satisfied..as I felt that this tactic created tons of chances to score and the match ended a lot with 1-0 defeats with the adversary having like 2-3 shots on goal... frustrating right? Most of kimz tactic offensive play goes trough the middle, where the opposition concentrates it's defenders crowding the area, so shots tend to be shots under pressure, resulting in what we can call bad chances.
I then started experimenting... always having as the base of your tactic, kimz (full credit to you kimz!!! You did the hard work, I just fooled around with player positions) and arrived at the following formation... I must say until now (tested 15 matches) umbelievable... I now still have like 18-22 chances but shots on target improved a lot (always about 13-16). It seems the defense has lots of trouble to cope with this attack that ocupies the full lenght of the field, and that comes from the back... so DC's are always confused. In terms of defense it looks very solid... because one of the main problems with 2.1 with v1 layout was FB being caught up the field on counters, now they are mainly defending... and the frontline all fall into midfield creating a first barrier... PLEASE TRY IT... I want to know if it works with other people... I don't have to change a thing... just grab 2.1 with v1 layout and put the players in this formation... Kimz I really would love to have your opinion and testing. 10x (again all credit to you)

i`m currently trying this with my birmingham side first season.got to say it improves the defence greatly ive only let in 3 goals in 10 games and scored 20 nice one mate.

Those two central midfielders, because they're going back to defensive midfield do you think it would be wise to use two defensive midfielders in those positions, instead of normal midfielders? That's how I've been using it on V1 and V2, but I'd like to know if my play would improve if i scrapped Hargreaves and Pique and went for a duo like Carrick and another MC.

I'm currently using it in save with Man Utd, been rotating hargreaves, carrick, fletcher and anderson in the MC positions, all with good ratings... and more the two MC's score a lot more than with original tactic... currently 7 matches played in the league 7 wins 19-1 in goals... pretty good... and only one goal in by vidic with "corner trick"... really happy with it

In Champions League only one match at Valencia... trashed them 3-0...

One thing that seems to work is FC's in the central AMC positions: Tevez and Rooney are literally destroying the oposition...

Also happy with the fact that I can now use wingers again... having great performances by Ronaldo and Vicente...

If you are having problems scoring by halftime... change mentality up to 15... time wasting to 13 and tempo to 4.. I actually have the same tactic with these changes (I call it the open the opposition tactic)

Ive never used the OI and have has great success,,for me the best tactic is 2.1 with v1 layout,,however if i'm having lots of shots off target more than on target then i switch to v2.1 or v2.2. NEVER keep with the same tactics in a match if you are having more off target than on, as most times out of 10 you will concede goals especially at the end of games.

The [KIMZ 4-2-4] still going strong. I'm in November and only drew two matches (played with all the subs...), rest all too consistent wins including two 2-0 wins over chelsea and arsenal (that I could have won both easily 5-0 if were not tremendous performances by their keepers). I'm not having much time to play, but here's an uptade in my career with KIMZ 4-2-4:

The only match I draw was against one the weaker teams, burnley, but it was my fault, cause I lined substitutes and some youngsters that never play... so I guessed I deserve it for underestimating the opposition!!!

I should have won the matches against Chelsea and Arsenal with a larger result (like the one against Newcastle) but both GK'a were tremendous.

Overall still going strong!!!

dimartino - me and kimz are always discussing possible tweaks on how to improve the tactic. i have tried your recommended tweaks and so far its working better than v3 and v4 by kimz. i will test it further and will post back with the results soon. thanks once again from me and on behalf of kimz

10x Don't say «your tactic» because it's still kimz v2 with v1 layout, I just changed player's positions (didn't change a thing on player instructions). To answer your question... I haven't done enough testing to say for sure if AMC's work better than FC's, but in my current save with Man Utd I've been trying both AMC's and FC's and crearly Tevez and Rooney are great, scoring like I've never seen before, and always with great off the ball movements that completely kill the opposition. They are surely playing better in that position than they did when I posiotioned then as regular Strikers. The way I see it FC's always have some skill in the AMC position, and they have normally better finishing atributes, and with KIMZ 4-2-4 the 2 AMC's are clearly the finishers.

KIMZ and D-Pak, just glad to help in any way I can to improve a tactic that has been the Queen of FM08!!!

KNAP: can you upload a SS of your xtree formation? I'm really interested to see it in action...

I just played a friendly with Notts Forest vs. Woking, I signed Golbourne to play as the left FB and retrained Davies as an AMC, played amazing football, won 5-0 but Davies only got 6. How do improve that?

the version that dimartino suggested is superb.ive been using it all season in the championship with birmingham and ive won the league with 2 games to go getting 100pts and only conceeding 30 goals while scoring 93 my defence has never been this good cheers dimartino!!!

final update of my first season using di martino`s tweak.won the league with 109 pts scoring 99 goals and letting in only 31 in 46 games.didint lose at home all season and only conceeded 7 goals at home scoring 53 and away from home won 12 times drawing 10 and losing only once all season which was away to reading who finished second.overall brilliant tweak on an already brilliant tactic thanks kimz and dimartino just hope i can do as well in the premiership
