The second round vote between the top two entries will run from then until Sunday midnight. The entries are: #1 Bobbev The Challenge Of The Ages "You win nothing with kids" - Alan Hansen "If they're good enough, they're old enough" – Bill Shankley Two alternative viewpoints regarding the merits of youth versus experience. But what would your choice be? Would you favour a team of fearless youngsters with their boundless energy and enthusiasm? Or would you go for the experience and the cool head that comes with maturity? Whichever route you prefer your objective remains the same - take charge at any club in any country, as long as they are in the lowest playable league within that country. And then, using either youth or experience, guide your team to the pinnacle of domestic success by securing the title in the top-flight league of your chosen country. If you can win some other silverware along the way then more power to your elbow, but the priority is that Premiership/First Division crown. However, for each of the two paths some restrictions apply. Path 1 - The Path Of Youth If you follow this path then none of the players in your first team squad may be over the age of 24. Any over-age players must be moved to the reserves and made available for transfer. Once a younger player reaches the cut-off age of 25 then he too must be moved and listed. You may sign up to three players each season for a fee but you are allowed an unlimited number of free signings and loans. Any players signed must be 24 or under. Graduates from your Youth Academy do not need to be moved to the first team straight away but can be kept in the reserves for as long as you see fit. Path 2 - The Path Of Experience If you follow this path then none of the players in your first team squad may be under the age of 30. Any under-age players must be moved to the reserves. All players under the age of 25 must be transfer listed - those 25 and over can be kept on but cannot be put in the first team until they reach the age of 30. You may sign up to four players each season for a fee but you are allowed an unlimited number of free signings and loans. Any players signed must be 30 or older. Graduates from your Youth Academy must be released immediately. Note If you take The Path Of Experience then don’t start in Scotland as there is s restriction in the SPL that your match squad must have at least two players under the age of 21. ------------------------------------------- #2 Axeman? Start with the following leagues: England (all), Scotland (all), Wales, Ireland (all), Northern Ireland (all), Iceland (all), Italy (top), Spain (top) Use a large database and full detail on all leagues except Italy and Spain Start unemployed and try to take whichever team wants to sign you up through the divisions as far as possible. Apply for every job at a higher level you can see, international jobs as well. Declare interest in the job at the super clubs, such as Inter Milan, AC Milan etc, if the current manager becomes insecure or very insecure (For some clubs you can do that for an insecure manager). See how long your chairman can tolerate that. * By the end of the challenge, try to have worked your way up at least one step in every division you have loaded in your game and secured at least 3 country titles in different countries. *You have 20 seasons to work your magic, so by the end of 2024/2025 you'll have to stop the challenge and list your progress. ----------------------------------------- #3 Xenon The George Best Challenge by -Xenon- In memory of the late, great former player, I feel it appropriate to dedicate an FMS challenge to him. In essence you re-enact Best's career however as a manager. Step 1: You must create a new player in the editor, his name and abillity are optional but HE MUST be 15 years of age at the start of the game and of Northern Irish nationality. He also must follow you as you change jobs and as soon as he is old enough he must be in your first team squad. Step 2: Take charge of Manchester United but after 11 seasons when your player is 26/27 quit. By this time you are expected to have won a MINIMUM of: -2 Premiership titles -1 Champions League Any extra honours will be awarded points which will build up throughout the challenge (the contender with the most points after completing the challenge will that good ol' prize.....RESPECT) Points awarded as follows: -Premiership title - 2 points -FA Cup - 2 points -League Cup -1 point -Champions League - 4 points -World Club nonsense timewasting trophy- 3 points. Points are only awarded to surplus honours to the minimum requirements above. Step 3: Go to the good ol' US of A, Take charge of any MLS side and win the title within three years, remember the created player must follow you. You may not want to make his ability that amazing as a superstar might not favour the MLS and an American side wont have the cash to bring him in. If you win the title before the third season you have the option of going on to step four straight away or staying to earn a bonus point for every additional title. Step 4: Take control of a team OUTSIDE the top two flights (League One downwards) in England. Again the created player must follow (and on second thoughts make him really crap because if MLS was a hard choice for him, League One will be, its only for effect so dont worry). Points will be awarded for: -Title win (2 points) -A cup win (FA cup/League Cup only- 10 points) There is no time limit but you must allocate for Step 5. Step 5: You must then go and manage Tobermore Utd. (the last club Best played for) in the Northern Irish First Division for at least one season, if the created player retired early you must hire him as a coach. 2 points for promotion, 5 for a cup win When the player reaches 37 years of age, the challenge is OVER. BONUS: -qualify N.Ireland for the World Cup -20 points -win it - 100 points -any victory in any competetion against Benfica - 1 point It's a bit of long one but should be fun, don't forget to write a story following your progress. ---------------------------------------------- #4 maccasafc This challenge is based around five countries, those in the British Isles. The objective is to conquer the highest mountain in each of these countries. In FM terms, this means achieving something at the nearest geographical club(s). The challenge starts at the lowest mountain in Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland Slieve Donard - 852m The challenge begins in the smallest country in the British Isles. Slieve Donard is the highest point on the Morne Mountains, standing at 852m. To give the challenger slightly more choice as to who they manage, I have decided to make the boundary Belfast, which leaves the following teams. For those wanting to be the most geographically accurate, Banbridge Town should be their desination. Slightly further afield, Lisburn Distillery is within travelling distance of the mountain. Belfast itself contains many teams, as listed below - * Cliftonville, Glentoran, Linfield, Crusaders, Donegal Celtic, Dundela, Harland & Wolff Welders, Brantwood, PSNI, Queens University Belfast. The Challenge - With this summit not hard to get to, your achievements will reflect this. A simple trophy (including league titles but not competitions like the English Charity shield, where only one round is played) win will be enough to take you onto the next stage. England Scafell Pike - 977m Across the Irish Sea into England is Scafell Pike, your next destination. There are four playable FM teams nearby to this mountain which are as follows. * Carlisle * Workington Town * Barrow * Darlington The Challenge - With this mountain slightly higher, a league title plus survival in the league above is needed to reach the summit. Right then, I'm not sure whether or not to include Ireland next country/mountain as there is only one team really near it and that's still bloody miles away. I think one team is OK for Scotland as it's the last leg and it'll increase the challenge but for now I'll leave out Ireland, making it Britain rather than the British Isles. Wales Snowdon - 1085m Snowdon has quite a few teams local to it and I've been told that Bangor City is the strongest. Also eligible are Caernarfonan (the nearest) and Porthmadog. The Challenge - It's getting rather high now and to complete this leg you will need to not only win two trophies but also qualify for Europe. Scotland Ben Nevis - 1344m The highest mountain in Britain is not one that is in close proximity to any Scottish league teams. For this reason, there are two options at this point. The Long Club Road Inverness Caledonian Thistle are by my estimations the nearest team to Ben Nevis but still a long way away. To cover this great distance you will need to achieve the unthinkable, and guide ICT to a European Trophy. The Long International Road Of course, Ben Nevis is in Scotland. If you can do enough to secure the Scottish national team job then you must emulate recent legends such as Berti Vogts and lead the team not only to the World Cup but also to the quarter final stage of the competition. If there is a European Championship before, the summit can only be reached by holding the trophy aloft. ------------------------------------------------- #5 mavericktango AROUND THE WORLD IN SEVEN TROPHIES Managers must win a trophy (major, minor, cup I don't know, what do others think) in every continent of the world - Africa, Asia, North America, Europe, Oceania and South America (in any order) and finally finish the journey by winning the World Cup with any country you haven't managed in. --------------------------------------------- #6 chazerman? eagues which must be run: Scotland- Division 2 and above England- What ever you choose (obviously the more leagues you have running the easier the challenge will be) France-What ever your computer can handle/What ever you choose Holland- What ever your computer can handle/ What ever you choose Belgium- What ever your computer can handle/ What ever you choose Challenge information- Detain for each nation - Normal. Points: Gain promotion at any club- 100 Beating Clyde’s best ever finish -400 Gain promotion for a second time with any club or win any league with the same team-250 Domestic Cup success – 100 Winning any league-200 Completing challenge-500 Winning any top division (in any country)-250 Champions League Success-200 Start at Scottish division 2 outfit Clyde FC who today 8th January recorded one of the greatest victory’s in the clubs history by knocking Celtic out of the Scottish Cup. Information about Clyde- Stadium- Broadwood Stadium Capacity-8029 Background information- Clyde F.C. are a Scottish football team currently playing in the First Division of the Scottish Football League. They are currently managed by Graham Roberts Nicknamed 'The Bully Wee', they were founded in 1877 at Barrowfield Park and currently play their football at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld. Their primary colours are red, white and black, and club honours include winning the Scottish Cup in 1939, 1955 and 1958. The name 'Clyde' comes from the River Clyde which flows through Glasgow. With Clyde your aim will be to gain promotion into the SPL and achieving something Clyde fans have been for since their relegation from the top flight! Once you have gained promotion it is you choice weather to try and achieve even more glory by trying to achieve Clyde’s highest ever finish in the top flight which will be above 3rd in the SPL. Once you have achieved promotion and decided to move on from Clyde then you move south of the boarder into England to any team you can, with that team you will need to gain promotion if you are below the EPL or if you are within the EPL you have to win the league. Once you have achieved this you can either move on to another club within England and either Gain promotion or win the EPL or you can stay with your current team and maybe gain promotion again or win the EPL and also you can aim to either win the FA Cup, League Cup or LDV cup (If you stay with the same club points will be doubled in second season) Once you have completed the second stage of this challenge (gaining promotion with any club or winning the EPL if the team you have chosen is within the premiership) you must move even further south ,into Europe you can either move to a club in Holland, Belgium or France what ever one you chose you are going to need to move to each of the other one later in the challenge, so you can choose any club from the nations Belgium, Holland and France for the next stage of the challenge , but this is where it is different what ever team you choose within these nations you will need to win the top division in that nation – France – Ligue 1 Belgium-Jupiler League Holland-Eredivisie Once you have won the top division in all of these nations you have completed the challenge! -------------------------------------------- #7 Attjen Relatively poor, low level club gets new owner who 1) invests more money 2) has a pet player (son of wife, girlfriend, his nephew, etc) who he wants to give a career in professional football... except he stinks horribly. As manager, the story-writer would have to keep this player as a first-team player, play him every game he was fit, and keep him as the top salary earner of his squad. (Basically a clause of his contract says that he has to keep the sad sack player happy, to keep the owner's wife happy, and therefore the owner happy, etc.) It boils down to the manager/story-writer trying to figure out a way to win with a terrible player in his side. If he can manage to unload the sad-sack player to a higher level team, the challenge ends, otherwise whatever successes can be found. Any version of CM/FM, but editing the database to add a new owner, increased finances, and one poor player of random stats for any chosen club. The added player should have a PA of 20 or so. The new owner should have favorite personal of that poor player, poor player should have high loyalty, any other touches as seem fit. -------------------------------------------------- #8 Chazerman? Into Europe We Go! Stage 1- Choose a team out side of the Scottish SPL they can be in either the Scottish second or third division( Most people to make the challenge a little easier will choose to manage in the second division) With the team you have chosen you then need to get them into the SPL (it is up to you if you carry on with them past this). Once you have completed this task you can then move on.......................... Stage 2- Moving to England...... Take over a club outside of the English Premier League and help them on to the big time by also securing them a place among some of the best clubs in the world within the English premiership. (It is then again up to you if you carry on with this team) Then........................ Stage 3- Take over a club in any league in Belgium and win the top league and cup double! Once you have completed this you then have the choice of either moving to Holland and winning the top division or moving to France and winning the top division its UP TO YOU!! Now this is where it gets good! Stage 4 Return to the team you choose to manage in stage 1 and win the SPL and Champions League with that team good luck!! ---------------------------------------------- #9 JackSouth The ‘We Were Once Great†Challenge by Jack South Database requirement- English League: League Two and Above Stage 1- Return to Glory The days of the yo-yo club are all but faded, and ex premiership clubs litter the championship and the leagues below. Man City have famously gone down two leagues only to come back up and under Stuart Pearce guidance nearly made into Europe. Take a former Premiership club (Derby, Sheffield United, Coventry, Barnsley, Oldham, etc) back to the Holy ground and stay there for two seasons. Note: If sacked during Stage 1 repeat with another club. Stage 2- The Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow Promotion to the premiership is big for any club but especially to those who have not tasted it before. Teams like Barnsley, Wolves have tasted it only to go back down, Blackburn on the other hand won it and Wigan aren’t doing bad either. Take a club who have not played in the premiership (Plymouth, Crewe, etc) to the top flight and qualify for Europe Stage 3- From Massive to Just Big Although the Premiership is the place to be some teams have been unable to recapture their former domestic glories. Their fans still wait and all at premium prices. Take a Premiership side who has not won the League (Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, etc) and win the League, the league cup, the FA Cup and the charity shield, whilst staying in the Premiership Note: If they have won the league during the game you may NOT manage them Stage 4- The Best League, but not the best clubs? The Premiership is without a doubt the best league in the world, so why aren’t we dominating the European Stage like we did back in the day. Liverpool proved that we can still do it. Win either the UFEA Cup or the European Cup with any British Club. Stage 5- Great Clubs, Crap Country Brazil’s dominance is fading as is France. Greece surprise win the Euro Champs rocked the International scene to it foundation. But what of the countries that have gone so agonizing close but have nothing to show for it. Take charge of a Country have not won the World Cup and take them to Glory in either competition Stage 6-Practise those penalties for God’s sake We gave them football, taught them the rules and then sat back as they kicked our bum all over the pitch. But Football has got to come home sometime. Hasn’t it? Win The World Cup with England. Bonus Stage- The First Great Team The First Great Team was Preston North End first completing the double at the end of the 19th Century. Now there just Crap! Return Preston North End to their past glory and Win the Double Notes: *A stage can only be counted as complete if you were managing the club at the start of the season (no club jumping in May!) *If sacked at any time during Stages 1-5 just repeat with another club *If a side has accomplished promotion/Won the League/won the World Cup during game play you may not take over them. *Stages 3 and 4 may be done at the same time, with the same team but both must be completed before moving on to Stage 5 ----------------------------------------------- #10 UELLFan? Basque glory? We're going to follow the managerial career of one of the most successful basque managers ever: Javier Clemente*. Quality player during his playing days who turned into an ultradefensive manager when he got his badges. However, as recreating his doings step by step would take quite some 10/15 seasons I've simplified it a bit: As the game won't allow you to start as manager of At.Bilbao's B side, we're going to have to take a bystep here: start as the manager of Clemente's hometown team. The second bystep will be in the European Glory level: Clemente reached a UEFA final with Espanyol, but you'll be allowed (or punished, depending on how you see it) to pursue this goal with a Basque Club (which will undoubtedly give you better youth players but won't allow exotic signings). Career Goals: Two Spanish Primera División Trophies, One Spanish Cup Trophy, One Spanish Supercup Trophy, One UEFA Cup (or better) and a European Cup (or World Cup) with the Spanish National team. Step One: Making a yourself a reputation in Spain A career ending injury has frustrated your hopes of glory at the age 23. After several years of bitterness and blaming the world for it, you take the national coaching badges and get yourself qualifications to coach in Spain. You played for At.Bilbao, but your hometown club has recently sacked their manager and ask you to step in. Take the managerial role at Barakaldo. Get them promoted to 2nd Division (at least). The aim of this step is to make up a reputation big enough to land the At. Bilbao job. Wait til the At. Bilbao job opens. Apply and get it hopefully. Step Two: Bigger Teams have Bigger Aims Now that you're at a serious club, serious results are expected. To top it, you also are at your favourite club ever. Lots of people are claiming you're not fit for the job, so to prove them wrong you'll have to make some big wins there. How about a European Competition with a Basque only club? Yeah that'd be fitting. To get to the the next Stage you need two spanish First Division leagues, a Spanish Cup, a Spanish SuperCup and a UEFA Cup (or a CL title). Step Three: Making the Basque Country known at International stages/ The Spanish FA and FIFA won't allow the Basque Country to have its own National Side. Worse for them, you'll get yourself appointed as Spanish National Team Manager and demonstrate them your people are ready for it. The goal is a simple and enough difficult one: Win a Major tournament with Basque players with the Spanish National side. Any recquirements? Hell. Yeah. Only basque players are allowed for the national side. Good luck! * Though he never won the UEFA Cup or get the National side further than quarter finals I thought it would be best for the challenge to include those as the results needed. PS: There are a lot of tongue in cheek statements in the challenge and by no means I mean to offend anyone's political ideas with this challenge. FM is a game and as a game it should remain. ---------------------------------------- #11 Gawinho Sunderland Challenge This is a very short but difficult challenge that you can extend. Start out as Sunderland manager and follow through the first season up to Christmas day, trying to gain exactly 6 points, as in real life (probably best to get points under the belt then purposely lose games). Leave training as default and only buy/sell players that Sunderland did IRL in that time. If you get sacked, retire and add another manager to continue. Presumably you will be bottom by Christmas. Then resign on Christmas Day and add a new manager to take over at Sunderland. Your first aim is to survive the first season! The Long Club Road Inverness Caledonian Thistle are by my estimations the nearest team to Ben Nevis but still a long way away. To cover this great distance you will need to achieve the unthinkable, and guide ICT to a European Trophy. The Long International Road Of course, Ben Nevis is in Scotland. If you can do enough to secure the Scottish national team job then you must emulate recent legends such as Berti Vogts and lead the team not only to the World Cup but also to the quarter final stage of the competition. Information about Clyde- Stadium- Broadwood Stadium Capacity-8029 Background information- Clyde F.C. are a Scottish football team currently playing in the First Division of the Scottish Football League. They are currently managed by Graham Roberts Nicknamed 'The Bully Wee', they were founded in 1877 at Barrowfield Park and currently play their football at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld. Their primary colours are red, white and black, and club honours include winning the Scottish Cup in 1939, 1955 and 1958. The name 'Clyde' comes from the River Clyde which flows through Glasgow. With Clyde your aim will be to gain promotion into the SPL and achieving something Clyde fans have been for since their relegation from the top flight! Once you have gained promotion it is you choice weather to try and achieve even more glory by trying to achieve Clyde’s highest ever finish in the top flight which will be above 3rd in the SPL. Once you have achieved promotion and decided to move on from Clyde then you move south of the boarder into England to any team you can, with that team you will need to gain promotion if you are below the EPL or if you are within the EPL you have to win the league. Once you have achieved this you can either move on to another club within England and either Gain promotion or win the EPL or you can stay with your current team and maybe gain promotion again or win the EPL and also you can aim to either win the FA Cup, League Cup or LDV cup (If you stay with the same club points will be doubled in second season) Once you have completed the second stage of this challenge (gaining promotion with any club or winning the EPL if the team you have chosen is within the premiership) you must move even further south ,into Europe you can either move to a club in Holland, Belgium or France what ever one you chose you are going to need to move to each of the other one later in the challenge, so you can choose any club from the nations Belgium, Holland and France for the next stage of the challenge , but this is where it is different what ever team you choose within these nations you will need to win the top division in that nation – France – Ligue 1 Belgium-Jupiler League Holland-Eredivisie Once you have won the top division in all of these nations you have completed the challenge! -------------------------------------------- #7 Attjen Relatively poor, low level club gets new owner who 1) invests more money 2) has a pet player (son of wife, girlfriend, his nephew, etc) who he wants to give a career in professional football... except he stinks horribly. As manager, the story-writer would have to keep this player as a first-team player, play him every game he was fit, and keep him as the top salary earner of his squad. (Basically a clause of his contract says that he has to keep the sad sack player happy, to keep the owner's wife happy, and therefore the owner happy, etc.) It boils down to the manager/story-writer trying to figure out a way to win with a terrible player in his side. If he can manage to unload the sad-sack player to a higher level team, the challenge ends, otherwise whatever successes can be found. Any version of CM/FM, but editing the database to add a new owner, increased finances, and one poor player of random stats for any chosen club. The added player should have a PA of 20 or so. The new owner should have favorite personal of that poor player, poor player should have high loyalty, any other touches as seem fit. -------------------------------------------------- #8 Chazerman? Into Europe We Go! Point for every goal you score in a Cup Final. Stage 1- Choose a team out side of the Scottish SPL they can be in either the Scottish second or third division( Most people to make the challenge a little easier will choose to manage in the second division) With the team you have chosen you then need to get them into the SPL (it is up to you if you carry on with them past this). Once you have completed this task you can then move on.......................... Stage 2- Moving to England...... Take over a club outside of the English Premier League and help them on to the big time by also securing them a place among some of the best clubs in the world within the English premiership. (It is then again up to you if you carry on with this team) Then........................ Stage 3- Take over a club in any league in Belgium and win the top league and cup double! Once you have completed this you then have the choice of either moving to Holland and winning the top division or moving to France and winning the top division its UP TO YOU!! Now this is where it gets good! Stage 4 Return to the team you choose to manage in stage 1 and win the SPL and Champions League with that team good luck!! ---------------------------------------------- #9 JackSouth The ‘We Were Once Great†Challenge by Jack South Database requirement- English League: League Two and Above Stage 1- Return to Glory The days of the yo-yo club are all but faded, and ex premiership clubs litter the championship and the leagues below. Man City have famously gone down two leagues only to come back up and under Stuart Pearce guidance nearly made into Europe. Take a former Premiership club (Derby, Sheffield United, Coventry, Barnsley, Oldham, etc) back to the Holy ground and stay there for two seasons. Note: If sacked during Stage 1 repeat with another club. Stage 2- The Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow Promotion to the premiership is big for any club but especially to those who have not tasted it before. Teams like Barnsley, Wolves have tasted it only to go back down, Blackburn on the other hand won it and Wigan aren’t doing bad either. Take a club who have not played in the premiership (Plymouth, Crewe, etc) to the top flight and qualify for Europe Stage 3- From Massive to Just Big Although the Premiership is the place to be some teams have been unable to recapture their former domestic glories. Their fans still wait and all at premium prices. Take a Premiership side who has not won the League (Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, etc) and win the League, the league cup, the FA Cup and the charity shield, whilst staying in the Premiership Note: If they have won the league during the game you may NOT manage them Stage 4- The Best League, but not the best clubs? The Premiership is without a doubt the best league in the world, so why aren’t we dominating the European Stage like we did back in the day. Liverpool proved that we can still do it. Win either the UFEA Cup or the European Cup with any British Club. Stage 5- Great Clubs, Crap Country Brazil’s dominance is fading as is France. Greece surprise win the Euro Champs rocked the International scene to it foundation. But what of the countries that have gone so agonizing close but have nothing to show for it. Take charge of a Country have not won the World Cup and take them to Glory in either competition Stage 6-Practise those penalties for God’s sake We gave them football, taught them the rules and then sat back as they kicked our bum all over the pitch. But Football has got to come home sometime. Hasn’t it? Win The World Cup with England. Bonus Stage- The First Great Team The First Great Team was Preston North End first completing the double at the end of the 19th Century. Now there just Crap! Return Preston North End to their past glory and Win the Double Notes: *A stage can only be counted as complete if you were managing the club at the start of the season (no club jumping in May!) *If sacked at any time during Stages 1-5 just repeat with another club *If a side has accomplished promotion/Won the League/won the World Cup during game play you may not take over them. *Stages 3 and 4 may be done at the same time, with the same team but both must be completed before moving on to Stage 5 ----------------------------------------------- #10 UELLFan? Basque glory? We're going to follow the managerial career of one of the most successful basque managers ever: Javier Clemente*. Quality player during his playing days who turned into an ultradefensive manager when he got his badges. However, as recreating his doings step by step would take quite some 10/15 seasons I've simplified it a bit: As the game won't allow you to start as manager of At.Bilbao's B side, we're going to have to take a bystep here: start as the manager of Clemente's hometown team. The second bystep will be in the European Glory level: Clemente reached a UEFA final with Espanyol, but you'll be allowed (or punished, depending on how you see it) to pursue this goal with a Basque Club (which will undoubtedly give you better youth players but won't allow exotic signings). Career Goals: Two Spanish Primera División Trophies, One Spanish Cup Trophy, One Spanish Supercup Trophy, One UEFA Cup (or better) and a European Cup (or World Cup) with the Spanish National team. Step One: Making a yourself a reputation in Spain A career ending injury has frustrated your hopes of glory at the age 23. After several years of bitterness and blaming the world for it, you take the national coaching badges and get yourself qualifications to coach in Spain. You played for At.Bilbao, but your hometown club has recently sacked their manager and ask you to step in. Take the managerial role at Barakaldo. Get them promoted to 2nd Division (at least). The aim of this step is to make up a reputation big enough to land the At. Bilbao job. Wait til the At. Bilbao job opens. Apply and get it hopefully. Step Two: Bigger Teams have Bigger Aims Now that you're at a serious club, serious results are expected. To top it, you also are at your favourite club ever. Lots of people are claiming you're not fit for the job, so to prove them wrong you'll have to make some big wins there. How about a European Competition with a Basque only club? Yeah that'd be fitting. To get to the the next Stage you need two spanish First Division leagues, a Spanish Cup, a Spanish SuperCup and a UEFA Cup (or a CL title). Step Three: Making the Basque Country known at International stages/ The Spanish FA and FIFA won't allow the Basque Country to have its own National Side. Worse for them, you'll get yourself appointed as Spanish National Team Manager and demonstrate them your people are ready for it. The goal is a simple and enough difficult one: Win a Major tournament with Basque players with the Spanish National side. Any recquirements? Hell. Yeah. Only basque players are allowed for the national side. Good luck! * Though he never won the UEFA Cup or get the National side further than quarter finals I thought it would be best for the challenge to include those as the results needed. PS: There are a lot of tongue in cheek statements in the challenge and by no means I mean to offend anyone's political ideas with this challenge. FM is a game and as a game it should remain. ---------------------------------------- #11 Gawinho Sunderland Challenge This is a very short but difficult challenge that you can extend. Start out as Sunderland manager and follow through the first season up to Christmas day, trying to gain exactly 6 points, as in real life (probably best to get points under the belt then purposely lose games). Leave training as default and only buy/sell players that Sunderland did IRL in that time. If you get sacked, retire and add another manager to continue. Presumably you will be bottom by Christmas. Then resign on Christmas Day and add a new manager to take over at Sunderland. Your first aim is to survive the first season!
