Haha, love the banter gentlemen. Mark, you still aren't fully fit!

*****

I’d like to introduce you to Elrithral,” said ScottleeSV as he stood in front of staff and players alike. Even chesterfan2 was dubious as to he was and why he was here.

Who is he?

I am a faith healer,” said Elrithral. His voice betrayed no emotion or character.

A faith healer? What we gonna want one of those for?” asked tenthree, who like everyone else, was now extremely confused, but halfway into tucking in to some Phish Food.

Scottlee smiled, “I think it would be a wise choice to have one here, at the club. He could do more good than you think.

Sounds pointless if you ask me,” muttered mark wilson27.

We are going to need a heavy amount of faith if we are to stay up this season, so come on people, all jump on the bandwagon.

Elrithral smiled at everyone around, “Let’s all take each other’s hands here,” he said, before reaching out for the nearest hand. WLKRAS.

The Dutchman whimpered, “Your hand is all sweaty...” he said, shivering with the thought of why. He was either lying or had done a dirty deed earlier*.

Now all link up,” he said, forcing WLKRAS to grab the next hand, which belonged to BobBev. As everyone took up each other’s hands, Elrithral began speaking, but no-one was really paying attention.

Chesterfan threw a sideways look to Celtic_1967, “I feel uncomfortable,” his eyes spoke to Celtic, a feeling that was conveyed through everyone.

As silence enveloped the room, tenthree shrieked. "What's wrong with you?" asked BobBev.

Tenthree was sobbing, "Brainfreeze," he muttered through tears of anguish.

Sunday 23rd August 2009: Luton Town v FMS Chester: Blue Square Premier (5/46)

Kenilworth Road

Squad:

GK – JamboJen

DR – JimT (gavrenwick 45)

DC – Panpardus

DC – Saxonaitor

DL – mark wilson27

MR – copperhorse21

MC – BobBev

MC – swagat sinha

ML – weeeman27bob (HD 77)

SC – canvey!! (viperk1 77)

SC – stoehrst

This was another away game that had problem written all over it. Thankfully Chester started well, stoehrst hitting the post with a diving header before Saxonaitor did the same. The first goal came not long after the Sax miss, and a good goal it was too. A well worked piece of play resulted in a freekick being earned, copperhorse21 stepping up to rifle a terrific shot past Tyler to give Chester an important lead. Chances followed for both canvey and sinha, but both couldn’t convert them and the match stuttered on with both sides gifting possession away like it was Christmas at Kenilworth. Luton has its own chance to equalise, Craddock seeing his effort saved by Jen in the Chester goal. The swing in play turns to Luton who knock and knock on Jen’s goal, the young keeper doing well to keep all efforts out before half time.

The second half starts with JimT coming off for gavrenwick. The half starts with much more attacking from Luton, their formation having changed to an annoying Christmas tree. Is it Christmas? No, I think not. Therefore behave with your pointless shenanigans, Richard Money. Craddock had a fine chance to level the game before his effort was rebounded to Gnapka, who poked it home. Thankfully the offside flag was raised quicker than a horny antelope’s codpiece, and as such, the lead stayed in Chester’s favour. They weren’t without their own chances to finish the match off, stoehrst missing two sitters like a donkey without any legs. An injury to Shane Blackett marred the Luton performance, and seemed to break their resolve. Chester knocked for the second, but just couldn’t find one. Viperk1 and HD were introduced late to try and achieve the winning goal, but they also failed, viper missing an open net and HD falling over when one-on-one. It wasn’t to be for Luton either, who earned a penalty thanks to the halfwit Panpardus, only to see JamboJen save it in the last minute of injury time. Thank the lord for Hearts fans. On this occasion. The performance was poor, but the win is like gold.

Luton Town 0

FMS Chester 1 (copperhorse21 7)

Man of the Match: swagat sinha – The captain dominated everything that occurred in midfield, and that was extremely important for the tide of the game. His defensive work was second to none, while his long shots were the equivalent of Mikael Madar**.

Sunday 23rd August 2009: FMS Chester vs. Mansfield Town: Blue Square Premier (6/46)

Stadium of Imagination

Squad:

GK – Terk

DR – BobBev

DC – Panpardus

DC – Saxonaitor

DL – mark wilson27

MR – copperhorse21

MC – Spav

MC – swagat sinha

ML – viperk1

SC – HD

SC – stoehrst (Marmoset Junior 68)

It’s a furious start for both sides, viperk1 missing a header and Duffy sending a shot past Terk and wide. An excellent run down the right also allows BobBev to cross for stoehrst, but he sends his header over. Saxonaitor picks up an early yellow for a foul on Duffy. Sinha also has a fine chance with a long range shot, but it goes just wide. Mansfield work the ball well past Chester, Sturrock firing a dangerous shot just wide. The chances continue to flash for both sides, HD sending a shot wide and viperk1 fluffing a fine chance. Stoehrst also works some excellent space to give himself a scoring opportunity, but he shoots wide to his own annoyance. It’s Mansfield who take the lead though, and its a typical counter move that makes it happen. A long kick from Scott lets Sturrock through on goal, the striker firing low past Terk to seal the lead. Half time is welcoming, but Chester need to bury their chances.

The team talk from chesterfan seems to work, as Chester come out and score straight away. A great ball from Sinha allows HD to break free, he takes one touch before smashing the ball into the net. The lead annoyingly lasts all of 7 minutes as Mansfield break again. It’s also Sturrock again, who fires the same low shot past Terk. HD has other ideas as he kicks off and goes on a solo run, stoehrst following behind, and despite his layoff being excellent, stoehrst sees his shot saved. HD also has another chance, but his shot is saved again. CHANCES NEED TAKING. Stoehrst picks up an injury and needs replacing, Marmoset Junior doing so. But that sub is pending, and while they wait for the ball to go out, stoehrst sneaks past the defence and lifts a delightful lob over the keeper to level the game. Nice way to go out. As the clock ticks down, both sides go all out for the winner. Mansfield come close when again Sturrock breaks on the counter, but thankfully he misses. Unbelievably, its the last moment of the game that brings the goal, and by god is it classy. A corner from viperk1 finds Panpardus at the near post. The tall centre back climbs high and heads it with power goalwards. Nix, on the far post, tries to head it over, but instead powers it into the roof of his own net. Epic three points!

FMS Chester 3 (HD 47, stoehrst 68, Nix OG 93)

Mansfield Town 2 (Sturrock 38, 53)

Man of the Match: Blair Sturrock – The guy was an absolute pain the arse. His attacking play was all round poor, but his pace on the counter was a nightmare. Saxonaitor had immense trouble with him, though no surprises there!

Great story Gav, just caught up with it.

Nice I've started the last four games and that should have been my goal in was going in anyway, bloody own goals!

In the game before it wasn't a penalty, the guy had Italian blood in him and dived, everyone knows Italians are divers and us Aussies hate them.

Just doing my part. What you didn't realize, Chesterfan2, was that I was faking an injury to make the Mansfield defense take me less seriously! Obviously my ploy worked to perfection.

No fooling me stoehurst, old chap. Just don't let me catch you doing that with the animals at the zoo again. ;)

Monday 31st August 2009: Altrincham vs. FMS Chester: Blue Square Premier (7/46)

Moss Lane

Squad:

GK – Terk

DR – BobBev

DC – Panpardus

DC – Saxonaitor

DL – gavrenwick (Cougar 2010 45)

MR – copperhorse21

MC – Spav

MC – swagat sinha

ML – viperk1 (Marmoset Junior 58)

SC – HD

SC – stoehrst

Altrincham sit sixth in the table, with some good form under their belts. However, my ex-girlfriend comes from there, so victory is a must. Chester and Alty both start with big pushes, Bryan going close before stoehrst forces a save from the Alty keeper. Unbelievably, Terk causes chaos with a long kick, and that also creates his first assist of the season. His goalkick tries to be smothered by opposing goaly Coburn, but he spills it into the path of stoehrst who flicks it over his flailing head to make it 1-0. There’s a heart in your mouth moment when Saxonaitor brings down Little in the box, but thankfully the penalty appeals are waved away. A corner is earned by Alty, but the counter is so effective, and oddly its led by Panpardus. He makes it all the way to the box before being tackled. Alty have their chance to get level in the game, Bryan through on goal but skying his chance. The chances fall mainly to Chester though, stoehrst and Panpardus both missing chances that should have been put away. The half ends with some serious Altrincham pressure, but they can’t make it count or even test Terk in goal. Half time arrives after Colin Little hits the post with a good shot.

Gavrenwick doesn’t emerge for the second half, Cougar replacing him. Chester start the half well, Spav sending a curling freekick just wide of Coburn’s goal. HD also has a great chance, but his lobbed effort just goes wide of the goal, a good attempt none the less. Sadly the lead doesn’t last for Chester as mistakes in midfield from copper allow Senior to run free on goal, the midfielder tucking past Terk with ease to level the game. A sub is made after, viperk1 coming off for Marmoset. Chester try desperately to regain their lead, but the efforts are rash, sinha’s freekick from 40yards being the main offender. Both sides push for a winner, but are consistently reduced to forming long range shots that don’t even hit the target. Saxonaitor gets ambitious with a 30 yard volley, and surprisingly it goes just over. The chances fall in for both sides, but no-one can get a winner as the points are split in what was a generally poor and quiet match.

Altrincham 0

FMS Chester 0

Man of the Match: Tom Kearney – He destroyed sinha in today’s match, limiting him to being unable to do any of his usual duties. Saying that, he’s from Liverpool, and should be stripped of his man of the match title for that alone.

Saturday 5th September 2009: FMS Chester vs. Histon: Blue Square Premier (8/46)

Stadium of Imagination

Squad:

GK – Terk

DR – BobBev

DC – Panpardus

DC – Saxonaitor

DL – mark wilson27

MR – copperhorse21 (BenArsenal 64)

MC – Spav (Balthazars 45)

MC – swagat sinha

ML – gavrenwick

SC – HD

SC – stoehrst (Marmoset Junior 64)

Despite being weaker on paper, Histon started the stronger of the sides but failed to make any of it count. The game took a hell of a long time to get started, neither side being able to get a shot on target. The first shot eventually came 20 minutes in, Sinha firing high and wide from a long way out. Spav the psycho earns the first yellow of the game with a scrappy tackle on Langston. Forty minutes into the half, Spav has a header clatter of a defender to earn a corner. Gavrenwick’s corner is abysmal, just like everything else in this half. Histon’s Barker is allowed a simple chance on goal when mark Wilson screws up his clearance, but he fires wide. The half ends with not a single shot on target for either useless team.

Spav has to go off at half time after picking up a niggle, Balthazars replacing him. The second half is just like the first in terms of its awful quality. Histon have the first chance fifteen minutes in, Knight-Percival heading over from a corner. Ben Arsenal and Marmoset come on late to replace stoehrst and copperhorse. It’s the two subs who come together for the finest chance of the game, Marmoset flicking a great ball to BenArsenal who hits a fine shot off the post. So damn close. In the 80th minute the first shot on target arrives in the game, Marmoset playing HD through, the striker forcing a save from the keeper. Gavrenwicks corner finds no one, and the chances go begging for Chester. There is a late yellow for Histon’s Neil Andrews, the striker bringing down Saxonaitor haphazardly. Marmoset has a great chance to steal the winner, a clearance playing him on but he failed to take the initiative and score. BobBev is given a late yellow for the crappest tackle on earth. The game is a blowout for all involved as it ends a pitiful 0-0.

FMS Chester 0

Histon 0

Man of the Match: Panpardus – A fairly decent tackle from him saved the day on one occasion, but he had little to do in all honesty in the crappest game ever.

Tuesday 8th September 2009: FMS Chester vs. Tamworth: Blue Square Premier (9/46)

Stadium of Imagination

Squad:

GK – Terk

DR – BobBev

DC – Panpardus

DC – Saxonaitor

DL – mark wilson27

MR – copperhorse21

MC – Spav

MC – swagat sinha

ML – gavrenwick

SC – HD

SC – stoehrst

With two 0-0 draws in our last two games, we looked towards this as a possibility for a win and to snap ourselves back into a winning fashion. Sadly the only thing that snapped was chesterfan2’s sanity, Terk performing the weirdest of saves with his crotch. Swagat singa and Spav both fired long shots wide, bringing the old saying ‘He couldn’t hit a barn door from a yard’ back into use. Some excellent passing work did see Spav smash a rasping effort off the bar, but it wouldn’t be the first time he had smashed something off a bar. (In a drunken brawl he once knocked out canvey!! With a steel bar.) Terk was called into action once more when Nicholson broke free, the striker’s inability to shoot just as much to praise as Terk’s ‘on my arse’ save. Stoehrst eventually reared his American head late in the half, but he also couldn’t find the ability to shoot which didn’t help the game. He then missed a free header in the box from a HD cross, the whole miss almost costing him an eye as chesterfan2 was sorely tempted to poke him in it. The half ended with Copper smashing a stunning drive off the bar, the ball ricocheting back out to a Tamworth lamb.

The second half started much better as within seconds Chester bombed forward and snatched a goal, mark Wilson crossing for Copper to head home. Copper was miles offside, but right now, who honestly gives a flying monkeys arse? Chester doubled their lead with their next attack, swagat sinha pouncing on a goalmouth scramble, stoehrst falling over, Panpardus missing a sitter before the midfield general powered it past the crowd of no hopers. For the third time in the game Chester hit the bar when HD curled an effort round the keeper, no-one on hand to pounce again. The fifteen minute wasn’t over though, gavrenwick earning a penalty that he trustfully donated to his ailing Geordie-American compatriot stoehrst to convert for the third goal. A few Tamworth efforts had Terk praying to his personal god, St Lucas of Sh!te Passing, but the efforts went over for the most part. Some excellent footwork by Terk and HD late in the game earned the second penalty; one that stoehrst was more than happy at ballooning past the keeper, but somehow in off the bar the lucky sod. Chester, and a relieved Terk, were happy to see any potential pressure subside, and the win has the ragtag bunch of misfits looking up the table.

FMS Chester 4 (copperhorse21 46, swagat sinha 54, stoehrst pen58, pen86)

Tamworth 0

Man of the Match: stoehrst – This sneaky Geordie didn’t really deserve the man of the match award for tucking away to penalties, but oh well, he got it. Geordie power always wins through, no matter how you approach life. Just look at Ant and Dec.

Saturday 12th September 2009: Eastbourne Boro vs. FMS Chester: Blue Square Premier (10/46)

Priory Lane

Squad:

GK – Terk

DR – BobBev

DC – Panpardus

DC – Saxonaitor

DL – mark wilson27

MR – copperhorse21 (BenArsenal 72)

MC – Spav

MC – swagat sinha

ML – gavrenwick (Cougar2010 72)

SC – HD

SC – stoehrst (Marmoset Junior 72)

Chester were expected to easily take apart Eastbourne, but no game of football would ever be simple. We had the best early chance to go ahead when Spav rose highest to use his massive head, but the ball just flew over the bar. Sadly for Chester Eastbourne did take the lead with their first chance, no thanks to Terk who made no effort to come off his line. Taylor as played through and had an infinite amount of time to place his shot. The side fought hard to get back into it, gavrenwick hitting the post with a good shot before HD ballooned like a complete moron over the bar and out of the stadium. Half time was quick upon the game as Chester went in behind, not doing much good for their chances of survival.

They came out much better in the second half, stoehrst forcing a save but before gavrenwick could capitalise, he was pulled back for a foul. Annoying! The equaliser did come, and in typical FMS style. A goalkick from Terk looped over everyone and found HD, who headed it on for stoehrst to run with. He made headway and easily slotted the ball home for the equaliser, game on! Eastbourne attempted to get an immediate goal back, but were nearly gifted it when Panpardus headed over Terk’s own net. Needless to say the Scotsman just wasn’t happy. Stoehrst was involved in a nasty collision with Weatherstone, and needed to go off, his replacement being Marmoset. BenArsenal and Cougar also come on, replacing gavrenwick and copperhorse. HD had a perfect one on one chance to give Chester the lead, but he fluffed it with alarming ease. The chances came for both sides, but the passing turned weak and neither side could force a winner. The points were shared, and at least one is better than none.

Eastbourne Boro 1 (Taylor 15)

FMS Chester 1 (stoehrst 53)

Man of the Match: mark wilson27 – The delusional Manchester United fan put in a strong defensive display that will have Saxonaitor looking on in awe. He made important clearances with his huge head, and provided many good balls from the back.
