dekilos
hi all.I'm not good with english so what mean this: player looking to see out the remainder of his playing days at the club? does he want to leave club or stay?

superscunk
he wants to stay until he retires . Am i getting this right? He wants to stay until he retires but hasnt actually announced retirement yet. If his contract is expiring, he will join a new club and not retire. What's the sense of this status anyway?
Sjmclean
he could be hinting that he wants a new contract and that he is happy to stay at the club until the time he decides to retire.
superscunk
That's what i conclude as well. But unless a player is unsettled, i'd always think they want a new contract. So i really dont understand this status and what the difference is to no status.
milnerpoint
the difference is, he is giving you an indication that soon he will retire, either at the end of the current season or next, so you can plan ahead.

Thanks, that makes sense...somewhat. In my situation, the player is 33 and his contract expires in 2 months. So if i dont renew his contract he will retire? Thats the meaning of this status? Thats the meaning of this status? i would think so, i think it means he has no real interest in playing for another club, not unless someone offers him a fantastic deal he cant turn down so if you dont offer him one he might retire. superscunk
Great help, thank you! I offered him a new contract. I really dont need him in my club (will be putting him in reserve) but my national team needs him.
