GoodControl
Different type of defensive line requires different skills from defenders. In Tactical Theorems ’10 and Tactical Visions I figured out next interdependences between defensive line instructions and defenders skills: a) Deep defensive line requires: For all defeners: low aggression, high concentration For central defenders: low aerial ability (without “marking tightly”) b) High defensive line requires: For all defenders: high aggression, high concentration For central defenders: high aerial ability (with “marking tightly”) Works fine with "offside trap" Is this list is correct and full? I would say your requirements for a deep line not needing 'aerial ability' is incorrect. With a deeper line, the opposition attackers are in a far more ideal position to get on the end of crosses as they are closer to goal. I would suggest that you have these the wrong way around. There used to be a conscensus that if the opposition had tall and slow(ish) players you played with a higher defensive line to ensure that their tall strikers are no where near your box to get on the end of crosses.
