Lumitchski
Hi guys, I'm sure I read the other day that it is possible to download something to make the tactics screen flat. I hate the perspective of the current screen, makes me feel sea sick. Could anyone confirm whether there is a download or that you know what on earth I'm talking about? Cheers Lumi
Proteus
Hey Lumi I was just thinking about this the other day too and decided to find out if there was a thread concerning this in the Skinning Hideout. Anyway, I did find some chat about it and apparently it's possible to change the perspective of the pitch in the tactics screen. Here is the thread... http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=172892&highlight=tactics+view After reading it I'm not entirely sure how you do it. Will look into it further. Let me know how you get on. Thanks
vrisk85
It's very easy to do, use the archive extractor to extract the panels.fmf into some folder, and edit the tactic screen.xml (or whatever its called) file. Then use the archive extractor again but this time create a new archive (with the edited xml file) and replace the old one. It's much easier if you use a custom skin, you just need that tactic.xml file (edited), drop it in panels folder inside the skin folder and voila. vrisk85
Yeah I'll upload some images now. 1. http://yfrog.com/j2step1vp 1.1 Click on "Extract Archive". 1.2 Go to FM's Data directory and select "panels.fmf". 1.3 Click on "Select" 2. http://yfrog.com/9fstep2pp 2.1 Create a new folder, and select it. 2.2 Click on "Select". Now you have extracted FM's default panels XML files to your newly created folder. 3. http://yfrog.com/jnstep3bp 3.1 Go to your newly created folder with all the XML files you've just extracted (you can see my address bar). 3.2 Find "tactic panel.xml" and open it (I have Notepad++, I recommend it, but you can use Window's default notepad as well). 3.3 Hit Control+F to open the search box and type in "perspective" into it. 3.4 You will find one result, simply change the "true" to "false" and save the XML file, close the notepad. 4. http://yfrog.com/4zstep4ep 4.1 In the "Resource Archiver", click on "Create Archive". 4.2 Navigate to your newly created folder, the one with the XML files. 4.3 Select the folder inside it, the one that actually contains the XML files, it's called "panels". 4.4 Click on "Select". 5. http://yfrog.com/2mstep5np 5.1 In the next screen simply select your newly created folder and open it. 5.2 Click on "Select". (You basically chose where to save the new "panels.fmf") 6. http://yfrog.com/5zstep6wp 6.1 Go to FM's Data folder (look at my address bar) and rename the "panels.fmf" to something else, like mine for example. 6.2 Don't worry, click yes. 6.3 Copy/Cut your newly created "panels.fmf" file into FM's Data folder, you won't be asked to overwrite because you renamed the old file. Done... I hope you understood
Proteus
Thanks very much for this detailed explanation on how to achieve a flat tactics view. Going to try it now. Really appreciate you putting it all down like that.
