Worcester City Researcher
I need help on two fronts: 1). What file type do I need to create to rename a club and competition name that will show up in a saved game. 2). I'm running a game based on the 10.2 Database Update - where would I save any file created to carry out 1).?
Jorgen
1) A LNC file. 2) It is not so important what kind of database the savegame is based on, because all updates are savegame compatible. It is thus more important on which update your playing. Put the LNC file in the LNC folder of that particular update, and it should work. Look here: Guide: EDT, DDT and LNC Files too, for more information. For a LNC that is already usable for most team and competition names, I suggest you look on the Susie (Sortitoutsi.net) forums. Worcester City Researcher
2). Do you mean dump it into the "Editor Data" Folder in My Documents or elsewhere - because that's as clear as mud
eliseo
I think you have to put in C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\FM2010 and there it should be db, or update, depending in which you are using. You could place the file in all of them to make it easier
Worcester City Researcher
No matter - I've had to restart my 1 season long saved game due to that Fake German Team nonsense being present in my game
Jorgen
Here are the folders to look for: Unpatched: C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\data\db\1000\edt C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\data\db\1000\lnc Patched: C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\data\updates\update-1030\db\1030\edt C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\data\updates\update-1030\db\1030\lnc If someone is playing with the 10.1 or 10.2 patch, just replace 1030 with 1010 or 1020. You need a new game for edt and ddt files to work. You don't need a new game for lnc files to work. (At least the name changes.)
