Preferred moves causes stats drop?

Has anyone else noticed that training "preferred moves" causing a drop in stats usually?

I can understand why that happens, as it takes "20% of his workload", but what is the best way to stop his stats dropping? should I decrease or increase their workload?

After they stop the preferred move they often go back up, but would prefer them not to drop at all!

There is nothing you can do about it. The stats drop because the preferred move takes up CA points and training time. You could use the stats dropping to try and increase other more useful stats perhaps.
