Villa or Schweinsteiger. Sneijder really hasn't been that good.

pretty much this, Villa has been the reason why Spain are where they are. Sneijder has scored goals but a lot of them have been jammy or ones he shouldn't have been given. Schweinsteiger has been brilliant practically most of the tournament apart from Serbia and Semi Final, then again nobody in German colours was able to play in the Semi Final because Spain dominated

No idea how Messi got into the shortlist though, I'm guessing that's due to his status rather than how he played in the tournament

messi played as well as anyone 4/5 games (especially the 3 group games) to be fair.

forlan easily the best player of the tournament to me tbh, but could see why people would vote for villa or schweinstieger. but forlan has been sensational really.

It is hard to choose vetween Villa, Sneijder and Schweinsteiger, however I went for Sneijder, although I wouldnt be surprised if it was Villa or Schweinsteiger. Dont know how Robben and Messi are on the list. And Muller should be on there for definite.

Did nobody watch Argentina play? Messi was excellent (at least, he was as good as Oezil and co.), he just didn't score.

Fórlan

Villa

Sneijder

IMO. I think it will turn out as brett listed it though, maybe with Oezil or Bastian ahead of Fórlan.

Forlan \o/

Lee Dixon can go do one with this sarcastic comment re: journalists and 'what do they know', he couldn't even be bothered to offer up an alternative.

BBC pundits came out with some right ****.

"Iniesta player of the tournament by an absolute mile, no one came close"

"A victory for football"

"Holland didn't deserve to win, all they did was set up to kick the Spanish"

"Holland weren't in the game at all"

Who the **** are these clowns?
