daleuk8
I am playing a flat 442 Rigid Passing- short Man marking Stick to position OP Instructions- I always CLOSE DOWN and TIGHT MARK wide players and full backs. Full backs - Auto Centre backs-- Defenders MR/ML - Wingers- Attack MC - Advanced Playmaker- Support MC - Ball Winning Midfielder- Defend ST - Deep Lying Forward- Support ST - Advanced Forward - Attack At home I start with Control. Away from home I start with counter with instruction to play Through The Middle and Shout Pass in to space. With Southend it’s working well, I’m top after 20 games about 10points clear and in the 3rd of the FA cup. Trying this system with Coventry and West Brom but it’s not working so well.. Looking for any advice, esp when playing away from home.

PeeKay
Couple of things you can try: 1) Counter and normal passing will get the direct ball to your strikers faster catching the opponent off guard but you will have a lower possession 2) Standard/Defensive and short passing will force your players to keep ball increasing possossion By having a mixure of both and it reduces the effectiveness of both tactics; you need to choose possession or counter and then set up accordingly
