theflowersofmanchester
Now, ive just downloaded the Advanced Panel and have noticed that you theres an option for a Cup Winners Cup type competition and was wondering whether anybody has attempted this ? Also has anybody attempted re-creating the old European Cup knockout style using the AP ? Thanks in Advance
magicmastermind124
I'd imagine this would be possible but no-one has attempted it as it's such a big job, lots of testing and still no guarantee if it will work or not. Just like everything in the Advanced Panel! If you really want to try and recreate it I'd just go for it, commit yourself to it for at least a day and you'll find yourself hooked. Dave Fairbairn
It's been done, but one big problem is that the game will qualify teams for BOTH competitions if they win the double, hence why no one has released one.
theflowersofmanchester
ye ive tried it but then you would have to edit every league to make only the first place qaulify for the EC. Its quite a small comp with 32 teams but i assume you'd have to edit the leagues and cups to make sure the runner up would come in if the winner did the double ? Dave Fairbairn
The problem is that there is no way to make the game check whether the cup winner has won the league using the editor. Much like many other hard coded rules, this can't be helped. Editing the leagues doesn't need to be done at all, as once you edit the CL to be the EC, it uses the EC qualification rules, rather than CL. Same goes when you edit the UC to be the CWC.
