Scalamunger
United For a Last Career Never done a career update game before thought I would give it a go as my last game on FM2010 before FM2011 makes it onto my computer. Using a Medium Database with All Basic England Divisions loaded (BSN/BSS and Up) and Scotland down to division 3. Using an edited database to include 10/11 summer transfers (e.g. Silva, Milner and Kolarov are at Manchester City and Blackpool, Newcastle and West Brom are in the Premiership) Spain, France, Italy, Russia, Holland, Brazil, Ireland, Germany, Portugal, Usa, Turkey are all View Only. 2009/2010 Season - Pre Season • Predicted Finish in league - 3rd • Board expectation – Challenge for league title, Semi Final of FA Cup, Final of Champions League. • Personal Expectations - At Least 3rd in the premiership to guarantee champions league football a cup win in Fa or Carling and a good champions league run taking us to at least the semi – final. I’ll Start of with a pre-season update as September First (End of transfer window) Transfers In/Out – http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b451/Scalamunger1/09-10ManchesterUnitedTransfers.png A Bit transfer crazy in the first season but I felt I needed to clearout the players I felt wouldn’t fit in with my plans, also committed a lot of money to youth which will either come back to me in performances or making a profit in the future. I Know I over paid for Marko Marin, but it wasn’t all in one go and half of the fee is dependent on appearances and goals. Same with Rene Adler, a lot depends on appearances but I knew getting a long term keeper in was a priority. On The positive side getting 9 million for Wes Brown and 10 Million for Park I thought were great deals Disappointed not to be able to shift Kuzszack after his injury but that will happen in January. I’m a little short on the striker front with only Rooney, Berbatov, Owen and Macheda as out and out strikers but with Markin and Donovan to cover It should be enough, also felt I needed another midfielder but my advances for Schweinsteiger were batted aside, with only Scholes, Feltcher, Carrick and Anderson (and Hargreaves but he’s out for 6 months) it makes it more difficult for plan B to play 3 in the centre and 1 upfront if Rooney or Berbatov get injured so im going to be relying on Macheda and Owen for 15 goals between them during the season with Welbeck and Chicarito out on loan. Staff List – http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b451/Scalamunger1/09-10ManchesterUnitedStaff.png Very pleased with my staff going into the season, again wholesale changes but a lot of variety in Scouts and Coaches I think we are well covered. First Team Squad – http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b451/Scalamunger1/09-10ManchesterUnited1stTeam.png A Pretty strong first team, not perfect but should stand me in good stead for the season. Reserve Squad – http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b451/Scalamunger1/09-10ManchesterUnitedReserves.png A very large and very talented reserve team could take several years to mature, some good prospects though with Bebe and Obertan, Welbeck and Chicarito all probably ready to step up by the end of the season. Youth Squad – http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b451/Scalamunger1/09-10ManchesterUnitedYouth.png A basic youth squad with most the talent in the reserves now but with a great outh acdemy and some great youth coaches a couple might turn into gems. Pre Season Friendly Summery : Pre season went well for 4 out of 4 wins scoring 21 goals and conceding only 2 Berbatov really stood out during the pre season I’m hoping he can carry that form into the start of the season. The Highlight of pre-season was the 10-0 victory over Newcastle Town where Giggs and Berbatov really showed there class with 3 goals for Berbatov and 6 assists for Giggs. Unfortunately going into the start of the season several players have picked up injuries meaning it could be a difficult first couple of games. Will Update at end of January.
