Sitting comfortably 4th in the league but i'm about 10 points off third Made this crazy(ish) tactic that seems to work wonders at home but not so good away. Managed to beat man utd 4-1 with it Team is: GK: Given/Harper DR: Beye/Ferreira DL: Enrique/Mattock DC: Samba/Faye DC: Taylor/Edgar DM: Barton/Butt MR: Milner/Geremi MC: Matias Fernandez/Emre AML/ST: Martin/N'Zogbia ST: Owen/Smith ST: Viduka/Carroll Looking for maybe some new back up players and a couple of big names to come in for next season. Currently looking at Zaccardo and Pander on frees, maybe Kehl aswell. Big name might look at replacing Viduka with Ashton. Not sure though what you guys think? I also left 24m in the transfer budget to bring Peppe Rossi back to newcastle at the Jan window. Premier League The league is going a lot better than i had thought ity would especially after i seen the fixure list and i seen that i had Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United in the first 5 game. My aim is to at least win this throphy. Finished 8th and won the fa cup 1st season, was 4th until march but had to play the big four in a row and only got one point. Currently 4th, and hoping to finish in top four this season. Team plays 4-4-1-1: GK Given RB S.Taylor CB King CB Kompany LB Lescott RM Milner CM De Jong CM Jenas LM Barry AM Van der Vaart CF: Owen Subs: Harper, ryan taylor, pasanen, goian, enrique, valencia, appiah, barnes, duff, gambrosini (italian ex parma check spelling), martins, aswell as stancu, viduka, faye. So i've changed it a lot and it works well. Just have no idea of my best team really.Owen won't sign a new contract so might lose him in January any ideas who to sign, still got 8 mil plus whatever owen brings in. massarotti_21 Posted May 16, 2008 Share Posted May 16, 2008 I just finished my third season in charge of Newcastle and managed to win all 4 trophies but i must say i was fortunate to win them all. First of all i managed to win the league cup on penalties. Then i won the premiership with 79 points, despite coming 2nd the year before with 84 points. Then i beat Portsmouth in extra time of the FA Cup. Then managed to beat AC Milan convincingly in the Champions Cup due to Kaladze being sent off very early on then AC deciding they would try and keep it at 0-0. My star players for the season were Van der Vaart who had well over 30 assists for the season. Huntelaar who scored 34 goals for the season as my first choice striker. Guilherme who from midfield managed to score around 20 goals. Breno and Taylor formed a formidable defensive partnership and Given was solid as a rock all season. I play a 4-2-3-1 with 2 DM's and 3 AMC's supporting my lone striker. Just about to begin my fourth season and my squad atm is: GK: Given/Krul DR: Chreithen/Lee DL: Enrique/Bridge DC: Breno/Sidnei DC: Taylor/Meira DM: Veloso/Barton DM: Medingayi/De Jong AM: Fernandez/Kranjcar AM: Van der Vaart/Jimenez AM: Guilherme/Gonzalez ST: Huntelaar/Owen I've still got 15 million to spend but have no idea who to bring in with it or just save it for January. Sir frosinone Posted May 17, 2008 Share Posted May 17, 2008 Well iv finallyfinished my fisrt season in charge of the mighty toon and i did as well mayb better than i wanted by finising the season in second place behind Arsenal and i might have won it had Fernandez not got injured for a perio but Peppe Rossi came and kept Martins out of the team as he was just on fire. Premier League Well as said above finished secon so automaticly in the Champions league next season and i am very happy bout that Micky Owen was leatha for me after the fist couple of months and finished as top scorer. The board only expect a mid table finish so i only had 40m to spend but tbh i will win th league this year.
