Muzchap
Hi, Ok this might sound a little convoluted but I'm sure it will get you going again: 1) Go to the Football Manager 2011 install directory 2) Locate ByteShield.ini - open in Notepad 3) Delete all but the Top 2 Lines of data - you should be left with the following (on 2 lines): [Client] gui=Bsi10 4) Save the file 5) locate the file 'profiles.xml' and delete this file 6) locate a file like xxxxxxx_sg_fm_10rc_decryptmod.lib (where xxxxxxx is the username you used to register) - if no file - skip to 8) 7) Delete file 8) Double click the FM.exe file 9) Enter your username/password 10) Accept any dialogue prompts (will prompt to move active activation) 11) Play game Cheers

I am at a loss to be honest, everything i have tried from reading the forums has no effect. I never get past the initial crash and the error message (football manager 2011 11.1.0f157094) Any help will be very very welcomed!

bangai
Same issue here but have it from D2Drive. Trying solution from other thread. Did the steps from Muzchap, got a messgae license was not expired yet with ok button, pressed ok button, now I have a byteschield screen and thats it. Few minutes waiting already but no progress. Update : quitted that, ran as admin. It sats Football Manager 2011 11.1.0f157094 has stopped working. In the details it says this : Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: fm.bbz Application Version: 11.1.0.26022 Application Timestamp: 4cd18a0b Fault Module Name: fm.bbz Fault Module Version: 11.1.0.26022 Fault Module Timestamp: 4cd18a0b Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 015c631f OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 6153 Additional Information 1: aa9c Additional Information 2: 00e6300fac05cee8bb11ab1f62618af7 Additional Information 3: 949b Additional Information 4: f0cdad1d676274cad3f7e5058bfe67ef I updated gfx and audio. byteshielddon
I am sorry you are having this problem. It is crazy for us because we want to help you and this is unique. One thing I thought of is that if you have any AV software, it might do this. Protection looks like a virus. I know sometimes I wind up with AV software I don't even know is there because various places are always trying to help me out with free trials of it. Looking back on the thread, I haven't seen the suggestion that you check carefully for that. Could you double check for that? If you don't know how, post back and we will help you. -Don
oldsoldier reincarnated
It does not seem to be a unique problem when I read the forums I have ZoneAlarm & SuperAntiSpyware running. kingreyes2
Hi, i am also experiencing identical problems. i have tried all of the above. i have shut down all virus and firewalls running on my pc. JerseyShoreDave
My Byteshield has let me play twice so far, but most of the time it doesn't seem to open up FM11 and when it does it plays fine.

JerseyShoreDave
I am on Windows XP Pro 32 bit... Muzchap tried to help me earlier but it didn't do much, after a random reboot it actually worked for the second time. I tried again and once again Byteshield runs and doesn't bring up FM11. I get no visible errors
Abbiss
I have been trying to install FM 2011 purchased from Direct-2-Drive since 18:00. I have tried various different methods. The details which I have found is that it seems to be an error with 64bit operating systems. I am running Windows Home Premium 64Bit. I have been able to install the game, however when launching I get the byteshield box appear Loading Application then count up then dissappear, however the game does not launch. I get the following error in event viewer; Faulting application name: fm.bbz, version: 11.1.0.26022, time stamp: 0x4cd18a0b Faulting module name: fm.bbz, version: 11.1.0.26022, time stamp: 0x4cd18a0b Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x015c631f Faulting process id: 0xad4 Faulting application start time: 0x01cb7d3ea53e4295 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\SI\Football Manager 2011\fm.bbz Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\SI\Football Manager 2011\fm.bbz Report Id: e821a5bb-e931-11df-9e80-00269ea9f9d7 Then a info Message of; Fault bucket 2171130782, type 1 Event Name: APPCRASH Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: fm.bbz P2: 11.1.0.26022 P3: 4cd18a0b P4: fm.bbz P5: 11.1.0.26022 P6: 4cd18a0b P7: c0000005 P8: 015c631f P9: P10: Attached files: C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Local\Temp\WER86BD.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml These files may be available here: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_fm.bbz_2855e9cf664c219ed37d6eb8813fbfd8e65adab_09db92af Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: e821a5bb-e931-11df-9e80-00269ea9f9d7 Hope these details can help someone get this running. bangai
Not a specialist but have to go with Abbis on this. Most people having the exact error seem to be running 64bit. And is it just an impression or do most people having the same issue also bought the game on D2drive or something similar? Either way, first time I bought it like this, and last time. I bought the game twice, once on amazon, they didnt ship it in time, so bought it once more on D2drive and now this. Frustrating to say the least. Although the amazon part hasnt got to do anything with SI games probably. Anyway. it would be nice to wake up and have a solution for this :s
bangai
Still no fix?
oldsoldier reincarnated
Its is not a download issue, I have plenty of other games from Gamersgate that work fine. It is a DRM issue yet again and ByteShield does not work and stops me playing the game. Why do SI do this year in, year out and just annoy their customers. It has now been 24 hours and i still cannot play the game. How about some compensation offer for my wasted time and effort ? (again)
bangai
Going to install on XP 32 bit right now. @SI : please inform us of any progress? We've been waiting since yesterday.
Abbiss
I have logged this with Sega. I would advise everybody else to do this then, SI might actually do something about this issue. This is very poor from SI I expected so much more.
bangai
I understand issues take time to get solved, but theres imply no information. Not even if someone is working on it. Can someone inform us if this is being looked at please?!

Most people posting same error have a 64 bit OS. I tried on a second PC with a 32bit XP version and I dont encounter a single problem.

oldsoldier reincarnated
I have also just loaded it onto my work laptop, WinXP, 32 bit system and it works OK. Still dies on my Win 7 Ultimate, 64 bit home PC, no matter what I do. I concur with Bangai that it looks like ByteShield is not compatible with 64 bit systems, bit of a big mistake if that is the case.
bangai
Later on I am going to do a complete fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate (now have vista 64 ultimate) + fresh install of Win XP 32 on this computer (the one where its not working on) and again test on both OS. Will inform here of the outcome. @ Jerseyshoredave : I think your issue might be different. We are getting a speciific crash after Byteshield, from what I gather your byteshield hangs?
JerseyShoreDave
when i track the program it runs then just stops running, it doesn't hang its more like its not getting FM2010 to start I know that Bangai I repair and build computers for a living. The specific crash that I can replicate on my test windows 7 Ultimate seems to be the same thing Windows 7 will announce certain program activities that XP won't. Doesn't mean its the same thing, I'm just guessing here from experience. I think it could be a 64 bit chip issue which I've seen too many times working on computers for small business using out of date programs, which this isn't but it acts like it :X
JerseyShoreDave
Actually looking through the event viewer I see: Faulting application fm.exe, version 1.0.0.1, faulting module fm.exe, version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x00053414. And in other crashes the fm.exe version changes... Faulting application fm.exe, version 1.0.0.1, faulting module fm.exe, version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x00053414. Faulting application fm.exe, version 11.0.0.21379, faulting module fm.exe, version 11.0.0.21379, fault address 0x00986d56. at least I got 2 errors out of the 100+ failures

bangai
Right. Installed a completely clean Win 7 64Bit version and it is working.
