Great work Surferosa, thanks to you I have saved a lot of time. I have been using your panels for 2 weeks now and I like it, have to say it is a brilliant addition. Especially regarding role attributes, I heavily look into players'attributes when I pick my starting line-up according to what kind of game I am facing. Stats panels are great as well

However I keep using some of my own panels now and then, for example the dedicated "tutoring panel" where I have tried to put all relevant information in here (age, reputation, squad status, position, personnality, determination...). have you plan to do a "tutoring panels" as you have done with the "capitancy, penalty..."?

A quick question, I'd like to put the "Media handling style" information alongside the personnality in a panel because it tells you a lot (indirectly) about temperemant, pressure, controversy, professionnalism...Do you know how it can be done? I am struggling to do it atm.

Thanks, KUTGW

Agree with Jim on this- sounds like a really good idea for inclusion in the panel set. Maybe good to include some of the PPM's- though this may be slightly more tricky. Do you have more details on what you would want to see included? Happy to look at screenshots if you want to upload them at imageshack- or Ill upload the panel.xml if you have it and Ill take a look from there.

With regard the media handling style, you can put this on the squad panel with the following line (you may have to put this in place of something else if you are running at 1280);

<record id="Pghm" width="45"/> <!-- media handling style-->

The "45" signifies the width of the column. It can be quite a long field so may take some experimenting to get the width right. If you are on a 1080p monitor that shouldnt be an issue though, so you could use

<flags id="Pghm"/> <!-- media handling style-->

which will just use the default widths.

Either way, added this for inclusion on the WIdescreen set

Well thanks Jim and Surfer,

I have modified the "team squad.xml" file to add the tutoring panel according to your instruction, have to say I am pretty rubbish at programming but I finally manage to get something! Here is a quick screen to the tutoring panel so far, I am struggling a bit with column width TBH!. I have not figured out how to add PPMs to this screen though, agreed it would be important.

315244Capturedcran2010121053959PM.png

And I have uploaded the modified xml file right here

Quickly, I have a look at relative ages, relative squad status, relative reputations and relative CA between tutor and youngster, and of course the I have a look at PA to make sure my best yougsters are tutored first.

Position should be consistent I guess, you will not tutor a GK with a striker, and language seems to matter as well

Regarding mental stats I look at determination, personnality and media handling style because it is basically the only "standard" way to have some hints about hidden attributes.

I am not a tutoring pundit so maybe I am missing relevant informations here.

Hey Surferosa,

Just discovered a new great way to use the stats that you setup in prozone.

This year, whilst getting to grips with the new game, I have decided to put training on a back burner for a little while. I am using generic GK / Defence / Midfield / Attack programs and, in addition, I am asking players to focus on key areas of their game in the specialise section.

By going through the stats in prozone, I am constantly discovering intesting stats that I never knew existed and through these discoveries I am asking specidic players to focus on this key area.

Example:

I ask my GK to distribute through the LB or the RB. Typically its the LB. Through the stats, I have now noticed that the LB becomes one of the largest passers of the ball in the game (I know, I know, how I didn't see this before, I do not know). So, now, I am asking my LB players to focus on passing.

seems to be working nicely.....

Regards

Nice one LAM :D

Its funny- when I did the Prozone panels, I was amazed at the amount of statistics that had been included- but often not presented anywhere in game (at least, not obviously). I put them together on the basis of just showing everything that was there- rather than having any foresight that they would be especially useful in game.

However, I have found them fascinating and often lose myself in them. As I put in the OP- its reserve team football where they come alive for me- you tend to judge your first team on results and performances viewed in game. But for reserve team where I don't watch them- absolutely vital in assessing performances. A couple of times already I have successfully retrained a player in a position simply because his stats were telling me he could do a job there. And, when I'm resting players in the first team- its usually the stats I turn to (whereas it used to be average rating and form). So, if you like, Ive started picking the man for the job- rather than fitting a man in form in a role he may not be as effective playing.

I'm just pleased SI stuck them all in- even if they decided not to use them by default

NakS- to be honest, Ive had no time at all over the past week to develop the panel set any further- however, that looks like a really good start. Definitely earmarked for inclusion mate- good job

Any news from Surferosa?

I have some news ideas regarding panels for him, the tutoring is almost ok I guess. But I just thought about a media interaction one, for example you go on the opponent team, use the panel and spot weak link or danger man and make appropriate comment, I think it would save some time. what do you think? What would you like to be in this panel? Media handling style give some hints about pressure, moral is key, I try to taken into account determination and aggressivity as well..what else? (Jim?)

Does anyone happen to have the original version of this mod, which was made for FM09? If you do, would you be able to upload it or send it to me please!

The reason I ask is because the links in the old OP appear to be dead. I'm interested in giving one of the old FMs a whirl and want this mod! :D

Can anyone help at all? Thanks. :)

Surferosa,

Love your modded panels especially for the searching panels as I use these for finding players and staff especially when plugging a specific gap in my teams, however I do have a question I have noticed that when you do a player search you have an option to create custom views, however this is not available when staff searching do you know if this feature could be introduced?

This would be great especially if you want to search for a specific type of Staff Member (ie Head/General Scouts, Head/General Physios, etc.) you can create that view on your save so if you are after a specific person you can get quick access to that view.

Yes they do, and, they are brilliant. Absolutely love the detail and information you get with them.

Yes, they really are! Playing FM with this since surferosa released it and i don't want to miss it! SI should think about making panels like surferosas for 12.0.0!!!

Surferoas,

Ever since post #113 I have been playing around and created my own search panel fields for staff (based from SFraser's topics).

My Staff Search Panel

JRTdLJRTdLJRTdL.png

What I'm actually wanting to know if there is a way to introduce a sortable panel in the squad/s tabs in which you can get a star rating for all players in all the positions GK, SW, Dl, DC, DR, etc. similar to be best lineup on the assistant's team report.

The Team Report Page

69nL9.png

If this is possible then working out who to keep and who to move on would be easier for people that are inexperienced in the game, this would also make it easier to reduce actual wages if the club is over spending against at budgets set as you would move on the lesser star rated people and keep the higher star rated people.

Some people might refer to this as cheating however if you end up managing a club in a competition with a salary cap (Hyundai A-league in Australia) this can assist in keeping the squad under the cap and not waste fund on people you can play with and the possibly keeping your squad numbers down so if a superstar becomes available you could attempt and splurge and recruit him to make the competition reputation grow.

I have suggested a better team report/squad depth per tactic analysis to be created by SI for future editions of the game, however if they don't implement this then by creating a panel this could by implemented by fans in future editions also.

Hey guys,

Some of the panels are still working for me. So...

The tactics panels I made almost at the same time as Furiousk (displaying several sliders at the same time in individual instruction display) is not working anymore.

The OI panel I made myself is still working fine

The team talk panel I made myself is not working anymore due to massive UI change in the team talk feature

The player / staff search display made by Surferosa can work as well, but the dynamic search feature then seems to be disabled. I stick with the dynamic search atm.

The team squad panel made by surferso that I have upgrade a little bit (psychological warfare, tutoring, training) are still working fine.

Hope it helps

So like, somehow I managed to use the FMF extended panels as a basis to port Surferosa's panels to be FM12 compatible (if we use the original one, the Eye selection disappears). The FMF panels are still there, albeit relegated to under the Original Menus. Just wanna share the joy of finally having fully packed, informative panels again. Here's the link: http://mediafire.com/file/43o7d7sj4b4cmur/team%20squad.xml

Let me know how it works for you. Cheers.

Has anyone tried these?

Anyone know if these still work in FM 13?

I havent tried editing FM13 yet but I'd guess they probably won't. The XML tends to have little differences between FM's that *can* break custom panels, although if the panel that the custom one is changing has not changed underneath it'll work fine. FM13 has seen a fairly hefty UI change over FM12 though so I'd imagine there is quite a lot different - I'm not how much FMC code is in the main game codebase but FMC panels are different again and if there is code to attribute for this then they'll all be different.
