( Sauce: FIFA.com ) The "General" has easily been the most controversial player in the Premier Soccer League for a few years running. Having grown up in Diepkloof, one of the wealthiest parts of Soweto, Modise was somewhat of a late bloomer. He debuted in the PSL at age 23 and was crowned Footballer of the Year in 2008 and 2009. Just like Peter Odemwingie for the Nigerian Super Eagles his technical ability and workrate put the hopes and expectations of a whole nation onto his shoulders and he struggled to meet expectations. Alongside the likes of Itumeleng Khune and Siphiwe Tshabalala Teko held up the at the World Cup 2010, crushing out after the group stage. Not his fault, but he failed to make an impact and the fans were severely disappointed. Teko was blamed for many of the lacking performances of the Bafana Boys 2009-10 and became increasingly disillusioned. Can't blame him to be honest. Anyway, on FM11 he finally gets the credit he deserves. Starts at Orlando Pirates with wildly fluctuating transfer fee and value for some reason. Pretty much his starting stats. Screenshot taken after half a season in 2nd Bundesliga ( roughly CCC level ). I play him in a free role as an AMC nominally, in an asymmetric 4-2-3-1.
