Reading from the FM Databases

Are there any official/3rd party libraries doing the rounds that would allow information to be read from the FM database(s)?

I am helping to organise a network game where the idea is that everyone will create their own club and enter into a custom league. Part of this will be an auction to 'build' your squad. Only some players will be available for auction and I was hoping to read player information from the database and use it to create a list of available players that could be passed around to all the managers.

Edit: This is a much better option (to me) than writing everything down by loading the default editor and copying it into a word document (or similar)
