DavidHoops
i'm doing a homegrown challenge with my team, so signing someone isn't an option. i'm Celtic and i have conceded 12 goals in my last 8 games (including 4 at home to Zenit), my defence is currently set out like this: Full Back Automatic - Charlie Mulgrew Full Back Automatic - Andy Hinkel Limited Defender (Defend) - Daniel Majstorovic Limited Defender (Defend) - Glen Loovens Anchor Man (Defend) - Beram Kayal Closing Down - Press More Tackling - Default Marking - Man Marking Defensive Line - Push Up Play Offside - Yes am i doing something wrong? how do i tighten up my defence? With those players (which are just horrible players for european football) you really can't play as offensive as you are. It might work in the scottish league (I don't know how horrible the attackers there really are) to some extend, but playing an off side trap against a strong side like zenit, is suicide. I'm kinda surprised that you only conceded 4 tbh. I would only use off side trap and/or high defensive line if I'm playing very attacking/aggresive. Your closing down settings might not be bad for your team, since you're a scottish team, but it's likely zenit scored by beating your offside trap multiple times. I wouldn't use an anchor man regularly either. It is definately a good idea against zenit, because their star player is AMC danny, who is very good irl, I suppose it'll be the same in the game, but in the scottish league, you'd probably want him to have higher closing down settings, to get the ball quickly because you're the top team after all.
