Toronto Blizzard
Hi everyone, I've created two leagues structures (Canada and America), and added U18 teams to all the teams in each structure. The settings are all the same for both pyramids, but while the clubs in the Canadian structure generate youth players every year (and a notification is sent about the youth intake on season update day), the American clubs don't and all the U18 teams are full of greyed-out players. Any ideas?
BurnCM4X
It may have to do with the custom youth system implemented in USA. If it is, that's not much to do about it.
Toronto Blizzard
You think it might have something to do with the nation rules for USA? Hard-coded in some way? I've recreated MLS under a different unique ID. The weird thing is that none of the five leagues in the USA have U18 players.
Dave Fairbairn
Yeah, US regens can only be created by Developmental League sides. This seems to be hard coded. Even if they're an inactive division, they will still produce regens. Maybe you could place the U18 sides into the Developmental League groups. Toronto Blizzard
Right now I have U18 divisions that mirror the main divisions. Should I use the "Developmental League" from the database as a parent competition and create sub-leagues? I'd like them to be able to get competitive games in. Toronto Blizzard
Dave, it looks like I may have deleted all those competitions. If I open a new database and save it as a new .xml, can I just merge that new database with my database?
Dave Fairbairn
You could just add new competitions which have the same UIDs.
Toronto Blizzard
That's what I was thinking, too, Dave. If I add a competition, will I be able to change the UID at the top of the entry? I've never actually looked to see if it was a static field or one that can be edited. If not, would I have to go into the .xml?
Dave Fairbairn
If you downloaded advanced rules, you can.
Toronto Blizzard
I've got the advanced rules but when I create a new competition, it's not editable. What else do I need to do??
Toronto Blizzard
I had to go in and edit the comp.xml, but I can now edit the UIDs - thanks, Dave! Scratch that. The UID field was editable, but once I entered something in that space and moved to the next field, it disappeared and no changes stick. :-(
