Two - You probably still have pots of cash so why get rid of a good asset for an extra £7.5m in the slush pile? Three - One is not a replacement for the other. Do you need someone like Marcelo on the left side? Do you have sufficient cover for Carrick in the centre. Four - If Carrick does not float your boat then go buy Masherano, laugh as Liverpool do not get most of the cash (thus weakening them) and you will be able to sell Carrick to recoup most if not all of your money and still have enough to buy Mr Marcelo. eazy peazy! Seems like a crap deal aswell, you can get Marcelo for £5.5 million as people have said. Surely you could get more for Carrick if you sold him sperately.
