Saveonsam
my club is part time, i send him out to scout england, but he comes back a day later, anyone else noticed his?
Jibby123
It's because he already has his knowledge of England maxed out. You need to set him roaming across a region (i.e UK and Ireland if you can), then he stays out looking. It's a step back imho that this happens on FM12, but there we are. Irl if you sent a scout to scout England, he should scout it. Not decide his knowledge is maxed out so he can take the rest of the year off.
Saveonsam
my thoughts exactly!! thats a shame really, was hoping to find some gems
Jibby123
Can you send him to scout a competition in England?? If you can, it's not perfect as you're limited to one competition (preferably a league one), but at least he stays out there looking.
Saveonsam
well no, as im in BSS, i wanted him to look through the players i added from the regional leagues, but i dont think i can
Coentrao
It's something that i hope it's fixed soon because it makes scouting nearly useless on lower leagues.
johnhughthom
There is a workaround, send him to scout UK and Ireland, then click Interact and ask for an update. That'll telling where he is scouting, if it isn't England cancel and repeat until he goes where you want.
Saveonsam
i agree im trying to find players and it just comes up with the same players, it's bordering on a waste of time. unless i manually search players, which is not how i like to play the game. very frustrating
AndyPass
I have had no issues with my Woking scouts going out to find heaps of players in the UK.
Coentrao
That's a good tip the region workaround but for people playing outside the UK it's still a problem, central Europe has like 10 or 12 countries so can't really use that workaround because it can take a lot of time before it starts on your own country. Saveonsam
I have had no issues with my Woking scouts going out to find heaps of players in the UK. so how do you do it? just send to uk and ireland? does determination make a scou any bettter or is it just an unused ttribute? AndyPass
I have got 4 scouts and 3 are scouting UK & Ireland. The other scouts the opposition and other players I want to have a closer look at. They're always recommending good new players. I also use the opposition scout report to find decent players. I think determination does help. I always try to get a scout that's fairly determined so they keep plugging away to find more players.
Jibby123
That's the key; they're scouting a region, so will stay out indefinitely. Hence continuing to find players. They can't scout single countries, once they think they're maxed out. That's a big step back from on what was FM11 imho, and I don't get the logic of why it was introduced. AndyPass
If you remove their previous assignments would they start searching again from scratch? I think it makes sense that the scout would have prior knowledge of the region they're based. However, it wouldn't make sense that if you ask them to continue searching in that region that they'd return a day later without watching a single match.
