Domoboy23
Match prep doesn't really win you games, the boost you get is negligible and not great at all. I find it seems to make quite a bit of difference. Especially when wishing to tighten up the defence

THOG
Can I set my tactics up so that my forwards have lots of creative freedom, with my defence having none? No and there's not really a need to. If your defenders seem to be ignoring your instructions (clearing the ball long, etc.), it very likely has nothing to do with creative freedom. Wellingman
What's everyone's thoughts on whether lower league players can pull off the more 'complex' roles such as raumdeuter, wide playmaker, complete wingback etc? Are they too technically poor or is it all relative to the skill level of their opponents?

Are they too technically poor or is it all relative to the skill level of their opponents? It's all relative, IMO. Dribbling and through passes are arguably an even more prominent aspect of lower league play. The Raumdeuter also isn't a technically demanding role relative to the winger or inside forward. He's a mobility specialist who relies more on off the ball movement than technical ability.

Useful for older players who can't run any more but still have their mental and technical attributes.

The fella performing the role for my non-league side is a 19 year old. He ought to be marked out of the game but the oppo part-timers lack the footballing intelligence to do that effectively. Can this improve over time? I think as with being 'injury prone' this can change with time provided they don't get injured, or in your case, that they perform well for a decent period of time. In a settled team that is familiar with your chosen formation and style, (assuming you have a balanced tactic) being managed well (choosing correct mentalities etc game to game) resulting in good runs of form, games where players have low ratings should be few and far between! Steviedaniels
Injury proness never changes. Consistency can though. Is that a feature just to FM15? I only ask because I still use 14, and have specifically noted players develop the injury prone status in the coach report and have had players that did have it, lose it when they go for a long while without getting injured. burjennio
Anyone any ideas whatsoever on this new Brendan Rodgers 3-4-3 formation? It's incredible to watch, if not a little soft at the back - though that could easily be the result of having the positionally deficient Martin Skrtel marshaling the back 3. burjennio
Do you have closing down "always" set on your opposition instructions for the players they are charging towards? My defensive issues really calmed down after I cut way, WAY back on the OIs. Keeps so much more shape, and players dont go charging out of position to attempt to win the ball, only to get bypassed by a quick, silky winger. burjennio
Ok here's a question: You need to win away from home to qualify for the KO stages of the CL, and the opposition gets a man sent off. They go 41220 with 2 inside forwards and no striker or attacking midfielder in the centre. What do you do?

They go 41220 with 2 inside forwards and no striker or attacking midfielder in the centre. What do you do? Probably sit deeper, draw them out, then attack the space they leave - especially down the flanks. A good creative deep player could also do the same, forcing the IF's to come at you, or the central midfielders to leave their defensive positions. Hello. You might be better off using the "How To" guide within the game to first learn how to customise your own tactics. After that, then open up your own thread and explain how you want to play. You like direct, possession, long ball, high pressing, compact shape, using the flanks, using the middle, using a target man etc.

Double0Seven
How important is morale in this game? Im playing as the best team in the dutch Jupiler League and I won the starting 7 games in a row. Scoring 15 goals and conceding 4. Unfortunately my pc decided to crash and I had to play 7 matches again. I did not change anything tactically and even had one of the best players not injured. I lost my first game 4-0 and the second one 3-2. After the second game my players complained about my team talk ability(I told them the performance was bad) and morale dropped(it was already bad after the losses). We managed to win the third game by luck and I told the players that 'despite the result I was not happy'. We managed to win by one goal, missing 3 sitters and giving away lots of chances against one of the worst teams in the league. Of course they all complained once again and one of the players wanted to leave the club. He didn't show up for training and my team asked why I didn't fine him. I then fined him the next time he didn't show up and the whole team complains to me about fining him! This is a deja vu, because I had the same thing in another save with the same team. So I had a very low morale for the rest of the games and lost 5 in a row. All by one goal difference and close games. So what is the influence of morale? It sure seems to hit my team hard... herne79
Is there any way to improve the Aggression and Bravery attributes? Do they improve naturally over time? Or are we stuck with whatever the player is dealt? I have a great young regen midfield prospect who I have been diligently training / tutoring for 2 years (he's now 17), and is shaping up nicely as a ball winning / defensive midfielder. However, his aggression and bravery attributes have remained static at 9, which are rubbish for the role I want him for (I'm playing as AC Milan and envisage him as Nigel de Jong's long term replacement). Everything else is fine, it's just Aggression and Bravery that concerns me.

You will not make Edgar Davids from Iniesta...so, if a player does not have these attributes and you require them, sell him and look elsewhere.
