How to improve the SPL ?

Hello.

I am wanting to make the SPL a high standard league. On with 30k plus stadiums, high profile players and teams competing in the CL.

I have realised that this will take far too long to accomplish on my own playing as Celtic, so I am asking for your help on what to change in the editor (FMRTE or official Editor) to make this happen.

I dont want it to be stupid, i.e Messi, Ronaldo playing for Kilmarnock, but I would like high profile players instead of the Scott Severins and Lee Mccullochs of the world.

Any Ideas how I can acheive this?

Increase the league profile score and the team reputation points in the SPL.

Give the teams extra money and add in a reserve league.

Increase winning money for the league.

I am working on one at the moment to have a SPL 1 and SPL 2 and just scrapping the lower leagues making a 20 team SPL and a 20 team SPL 2.

Create new nations rules.

Add in Clydesdale bank premier

rename it and then add in the teams from the first division so that you have 20 teams.

Adjust relegation places to whatever you want.

Then just adjust reputation for teams and league.

Then add in Scottish First division and rename.

Add in team from 2nd and 3rd divisions and copy steps from above.

Test nation rules if anything faulty adjust and fix.

After that adjust prize winning for league finishing spots , tv money etc,etc.

Click have a reserve league and again test nation rules.

If all ok save and load into new game.

Beware though I have tried a few and got board very quick as it was just to easy to attract big players to your club but the quality of the league rapidly grew.

Few questions.

What would you recommend I set the rep to? have it at 180 for SPL1 and 120 for SPL2

What would you set the prize money to? TV Money as well?

How do I ensure that teams actually buy good players?

How do I enable stadium upgrades?

What should I set transfer budgets to? Bank balances...?

What should I put club rep to?

So far for SPL1

TV money per club- 30mill

Relegation money- 15mill

Most of that is down to you and what you want from the game.

I have SPL set to 150 and SPL 2 to 120.

Prize money SPL 6.5m for winner then 500k less until hitting 1m then decrease by 100k for SPL teams.

TV money set to 2m for all SPL teams.

You have no power over who they buy but with extra funds and bigger reputation they will buy better quality players.

I clicked all SPL 1 teams bar Celtic and rangers and set balance to 20m transfer budget to 5m and wage budget to 50k

Celtic and Rangers set to 90m and 25m budget with a 250k wage budget left.

Stadium upgrades not sure about but you can change them manually in editor.

Ive set mine slightly higher than you have.

Celtic, Rangers:

Balance 150mill

Transfer Budget 50mill

Everyone else:

Balance 50mill

Transfer Budget 25mill

Minimum club rep 6500 for SPL1, Celtic, Rangers - 7500

Club rep for SPL2 - 6000 for all teams.

SPL2:

Balance 30mill

transfer 10 mill

BTW, do you have to enter prize money for ALL teams? In SPL2 I have only entered prize money for top 6 teams, 3 of which get promoted.

Yes as relegation money is just a parachute payment so they have extra to keep there best players.

I will post some screen shots up of mine soon.

Did you add in cups.

I have Scottish Cup , Scottish League Cup and Scottish Super cup.

Super Cup is worth 10m between winner of SPL 1 and Scottish Cup.

Nice, any idea where I can get the club logos from ?

I think Im pretty much finished mine now, just need to adjust the stadiums to help increase income as well.

Still trying to think what else I can do.

Was thinking of cancelling all the manager contracts so that higher profile managers would step in, hopefully making the club stronger.

Also, I thought you were only including 2 divisions ? Why have you got the highland league as well?

Was going to do two leagues but then thought SPL 2 would become boring with no relegation so brought in the highland League (Scottish 3rd division) and made it a 3 down and 3 up system.

Created the reserve league system were each win in the group stages offers 200k which means smaller teams have a chance of making a big income from the reserves.

This I thought would make teams grow a stronger youth / reserve team system as there was alot of money to be won from these games.

Club logos can be found in the skinning out thread.

I guess it is what you want from the game I thought that 10 groups of 6 at least gave the smaller teams a chance of winning.

After the group stages it is a clear knock out cup so there is 10 games in the groups with a total of £6m up for grabs if winning and another 200k if drawing.

Really struggling trying to create this lol.

*Add New cup

* Select competition

* Add SPL1 SPL2 reserve teams

*Format - group stage then knockouts

* No of groups - 10

* Teams play each other - 2 times

Fancy sending me your file ? WIll I still be able to use my setup for the league though ?

Basically that is it what you will have to do though is add teams to the stages so it looks like this.

Stage 1 Teams to add 40

Stage 2 Teams to add 0 and so on.

If have 40 team in your reserve league/cup then you will need to either have 32 teams or 16 teams qualifying for the next round which is your knock out round.

Then just keep halving the number of teams until the final.

Remember add prize money for each stage of the competition.
