I just called the Mrs and said I was going to pick her up. She said that there was no way I would be able to get in through all the police and ambulances and they have been advised it is safer to stay where they are.

Thing is, she works in The Poultry building which is right above Bank Station, and any bomb at that station could bring the building down icon_frown.gif

No just reports of the explosion in the Liverpool Street area being a bus, but no confirmation.

London is in the media limelight: G8 summit (albeit in Scotland- means security attention is there), and any Olympic bid victory a bonus as already mentioned.

Still haven't heard from my people in London.

Hope everyone else's are okay. icon_frown.gif

There could still be a power surge, as the expert on the BBC now has just said, an explosion at a substation could of caused a power surge not noticed by the National Grid.

Pretty unlikely, but I suppose it's a bit like telling survivors of 9/11 to get onto their nearest available domestic flight.

Well that's just ridiculous you can't get a train out of london for a start. The bbc are saying that police are advising people should stay where they are.

OK, I don't mean to offend anyone with this theory BUT......

I believe some of the 9/11 conspiracy theories. The day after we win the bid to stage the Olympics this happens. However, as some people say it's a bit on the small side for some of these 'terrorists'

Is it possible that like the allegations of the Pentagon on 9/11 that this could be a bit of an "inside job"? And then we show the world how efficiently our emergency services etc deal with such situations?

I'm not saying I believe this to be correct - but is it something worth considering?

No offence meant to anyone who strongly disagrees with this. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Yes because causing people to die to just show how efficent we are is always a good idea. icon_rolleyes.gif

And its not like London Emergency services haven't carried out dummy run excercises to show they are efficient is it!

Whether it's Al-Qu'eda or not is open to debate, but they're nothing more than a clearing house for other Islamic terrorist groups.

The name is starting to replace the people itself. It's not terrorists - it's Al-Que'da! And Hoover thought they were lucky with their branding eh?

Firstly, because the summit is incredibly important, and secondly because it's the aim of terrorists to disrupt the normal working of their targeted countries.

Fail to see how Tony Blair legging it down to London would help in any respect other than to cause additional pressure on the security services.
