sorry missed the day so took the screenshot of the u18s with them all in. pleased with the overall intake with about 8 players signed up. their was a good RB in their but i have so many of them i didnt bother with him. and for the first time ever no strikers. all i need now is a decent LB lets pray for one next season.

Maurice Clark get the YP tag this year. good potential for the AMC.

Season 2017/18 - Carshalton Athletic

League Table - Consolidation. It was good enough after a very poor start. It was odd, we seemed to beat some of the teams fighting in for play-offs but couldn't beat people in and around us for anything. Aims for next season is to have a good cup run and push up the table a bit. I can see these next few seasons being very similar to how life was in Blue Square South and if so, we could be in League 2 for a while.

Finances - We're spending over £150k per month on Youth Setup stuff so we've been knocked down a few ranks. But we have just had Training facilities agreed to be upgraded which will take a bit more out of the finance but hopefully it'll pay off long term with some of our youngsters being able to reach their full potential.

Youth Players - Most of them did well but this was the first season when I sold a few of them. Anthony Freeman YP02 was the first one to leave for any real money, £500,000 to Ipswich, but Calvin Coddingtown YP05 and Jack Devonshire YP01 both left on frees.

Ross Hale YP03 - Good season from him

Jamie Humphrey YP04 - Still getting better but as our only decent keeper I have to play him and I think he's a bit out of his depth in this league but it's not entirely down to him, our defence ain't great.

Josh Brazier YP06 - Stepped up to fill Freeman's very large shoes. He didn't quite manage the same number of goals but he's doing well.

Ibrahim Tran YP07 - Our best player. He may not show it with the stats but we miss him hugely when he is out injured.

Kelly Moore YP08 - Not good enough for the first team yet but doing well in the U18s and I'll give him some more game time next season.

Warren Galbraith YP09 - When both of my main striker's got injured he had to step in and he scored some important goals. I think he'll be a superb impact sub for next season and then maybe he'll be able to replace one of the two up there already.

Youth Intake - I was pleased with it. Our rise in rep and youth recruitment meant we had better players coming in.

Transfers - Innocent.

Northwich Victoria 2016/17

A far better season! In fact, it was better than I expected. Following the previous season where we flirted with relegation for most of it, I was expecting a top half finish while a few of the youth players got settled in to the team and used to playing first team football, but the players had different ideas. 3 wins and a draw in our first 4 matches meant we were soon quickly challenging at the top. Just 2 wins and 2 draws in the next 7 games soon brought me and the team back down to earth and reminded us of what we needed to do over the rest of the season. Still, 18 points in the first 11 games was better than what I managed to get the previous season in the first 23 games!

Anyway, so much for a decent cup run. Kidderminster were defeated after a replay in the FAC Q2, before we lost to Hednesford. In the FAT, Altringham beat us 2-0 at home in Q3. Back to league action we go ....

Between the FAC and FAT matches, we had a decent run in the league, with 3 wins and 4 draws., but this was ended by FC Halifax. For most of the rest of the season, we had some very good performances, mixed with a few indifferent games, but this I put down to the inexperience of the young players. However, the last 6 games of the regular season saw us play some of our best football, 5 wins and a draw, including 4 clean sheets on the spin for Bradley Power before he scored an own goal against Colwyn Bay on the last day of the season in a 2-2 draw.

And so we reach the playoffs, but the less said about them, the better. Slaughtered 4-0 at home by Mansfield, although we did get a credible 1-1 draw in the return leg.

Transfers - Again, I'm clean, but the number of players leaving this year will be a lot higher.

Youth Intake - I suppose I was spoiled a lot by the previous season, but there is still a few good prospects, with Richie McKay (report card) geting the YP05 tag.

Progress of youth players - Only those who have played 10 or more games during the season will be shown.

Aim for next season - Playoffs minimum!

Finances - Worrying! The club looks as though it will break even for the season, but we're still £415,000 in debt. On a side not though, gate reciepts for our pre-season were £1000 higher than what we made for the previous season ....

Screenshots will be edited in later, as Smugmug, who host my website, have a few problems currently, and the site is down.

Transfers - I'm no fackin' wheelah dealah

Final squad v Lewes

Yes we only escaped relegation on the last day, but there are small signs of consistency breaking into the team. Our cup run was the highlight, and the lowlight of our season. Making the 3rd round of the FA Cup was great, but going against a weak Oldham team, we really could and should have made a better fist of it. And to rub salt in the wounds, we would've met Premier League Blackpool at home if we beat Oldham....

Ah well, our finances are looking better, but still, I crave that solidarity that we have been lacking in the three seasons I've done (and of course the two with Carshalton). I'm gonna put myself on the line and ask for advice on how to maintain consistency over a season....11 losses in a row towards the end of the season is not the form I want, nor should it even have happened. Any tips would be most welcome.

The Youth Prospects

Matthew Reeves - Formed a good partnership with Kaikai. Became a target man and didn't look back, though dropped off badly towards the end of the season.

Damien Foster - Slightly better this season, but still needs to be worked on.

Apps	Gls	Asts	MoM	AvRat

16/17	6(8)	1	2	0	6.75

Christos Alexandrou - Looked good at the start of the season, but faded and eventually dropped off the radar. Only staying to keep up some bulk in the full back position.

14/15	1	0	0	0	6.70
15/16	19	0	1	0	6.54

Sergio Mario - Very much on the periphary of the first team, but should feature more next season.

	Apps	Gls	Asts	MoM	AvRat
15/16	5(1)	0	0	0	6.67
16/17	2(6)	0	0	0	6.47

Harry Barrett - Didn't feature this season, but heavily considering trying him out next season in the light of Tolfrey's constant errors.

Welcome to Hendon

Class of 2017

Not such a great crop this time round. Only the one good youngster to write about...in a position I don't particularly need depth...

Lewis Fry - ST. Good target man stats, so should allow me to get rid of any deadwood strikers for next season.

Next season

A better cup run would be nice, and obviously a much more consistent league campaign too. I want to break mid-table so bad...

Have you tried using a 4-3-3 formation? Have 1 of your midfielders and strikers set to run back, and it's quite a solid formation.

It's working for me at Northwich, and it definately worked for me in my Gainsborough game, getting them from the BSN to the EPL, but I was allowed to buy players in that save :p

Great progress there TWFL - whilst 18th doesn't sound great, I imagine League 2 is a massive step up from BSP you were playing in last season!

Yeah feels like a huge step up. The first two games I lost 5-0 and 7-0 so I was panicking at that point but managed to pick up enough points to survive and I'm building on that with some good results this season.

Chester - BSN - 2014/15 End Of Season Report

Chester-FC-2010-Logo-300x300.png

League Table | Squad Stats | Transfers | Finances | Facilities

Stright back up after last years relegation. Still in the red and losing around 50k each month sometimes. Made a loss this year even with the decent cup run. Weird that my wage budget has doubled and gone to 11k which will allow me to sign Hoskins and Collis back-up and not try and sell them which won't help the finances much but might give us a chance to stay up.

Just the Youth Coaching up this season again.

Youth Candidates

Not as good as last few in terms of quality but signed up 7(First 7 down) a few could play first team in the next few years but hopefully get better players in the intakes most are just to raise numbers as a few of the players from the start leave. Leroy Donovan gets the VP tag. Another stand out is what is "My 205cm (6 ft 8.7 inch) ST" going to do with all that flair with a 5 for dribbling etc :)

Avramski- another good season and you were unfortunate to lose in the playoffs. you will get promoted next season ;)

conman- life at Hendon seems a struggle but I think you are about to get a breakthrough :)

Welshlad- Congrats on bouncing straight back! it was a wonderful season for you and I am in no doubt that you will survive this time :)

Vivex- Welcome to the challenge. Margate looks tough.

As for me I'm struggling for motivation at the moment. Only 2 games into the season with canvey and things dont feel right. might wimp out and do it with Chester.

EDIT: I have decided to take a break from my own challenge. After one of the most fun saves I have had, I am at a bit of a low point. I feel like i have already done what I will have to do with Canvey and it doesnt feel right. I will still run the thread and comment on every seasonal update but I will not be taking part for a while. Just like a fellow challenge setter (all be it, one far greater than me :D) I have looked to the depths of Northern irish football, but my days of transfers are over now. I will make a team good using youth. Might make a thread on it as well.

Dont give up, this is by far the most challenging save going. Where would the challenge be if it were easy? Yes things didnt go as planned at FC United but use that as motivation to go onto bigger and better things with a different team.

HENDON 2018/19 BSS

League table on the final game of the season at HT - I was worried very worried, then we came out in the second half and conceded 2 immediatly i thought that was it our chance of instant promotion gone. End Result

League Table: dominated all season scoring goals for fun.

Squad: a few more of the oldies will be gone now in the pre season. leaving 2 and the rest pure youth. there is now i am glad to say no weak spot in the team :)

Key Player

Samuel Woods YP04 : check out his goal scoring this season, lets hope he can continue it for next.

Records for him include this season : Player of the season and BSS Top Goalscorer

Junior Coaching : Mr Burns "Excellent"

Youth Recruitment has also been upgraded to basic

Next season: survive in the BSP i think that if fully achievable. and hopefully fully upgrade the junior coaching.

With my original squad now starting to age badly, with 4 youth products in my starting 11 (and several more coming on off the bench), this was the season my youth products either stood up and performed, or didn't... and unfortunatly they didn't. Despite a couple of wins early in the season, most of the season was spent in the relgation zone, although as per last season, I was never too far from saftey.

As per last season, I needed a win on the last day of the season, and for one of the two teams above me to slip up. As per last seaon, both the teams above me lost, but alas, I could only manage a draw against 5th placed Staines (still a good effort), and I ended the season in 19th place (only GD seperating 17th and 19th), and doomed to relegation - despite earning 7 more points than last season!

2014 League Table and Graph

As per usual, no progress in the FA Cup prelim rounds, however things were a bit better in the FA Trophy, reaching the 3rd Round before losing to eventual winners Stevenage

After being the Best U18 player (as decided by me) and a first team regular for the last two seasons, the 19 year old central defender has developed into the best player in the team, and has been recognised as such by the Fans. With seveal of his attributes now in double figures, it's a shame I can't see him continuing to develop.

Best U18 Player - Adam Atkinson

Whilst Atkinson didn't get much game time last year in his debut season, due to injury and an aging squad he earned a spot in the starting XI early in the season, and kept the spot all season, earning a spot in the BSS team of the week in the process. His attributes are nothing to be proud of (especially his poor technical attributes), but sadly had very little competition from the other U18 players

2014 Seasonal Best XI and Overall Best XI

Finances / Facilities

As per usual, I stayed under my wage budget, but still managed to make a loss. Despite the Chairman pumping some money into the club to keep the club afloat, I still posted a loss of $20k, to bring the balance to -$190k

2014 Finances

Corporate Facilities: Fairly Basic

Training Facilities: Adequate

Youth Facilities: Average

Youth Recruitment: Basic

So that's it - despite putting off relegation for 3 years, I couldn't delay it any more, it seems my youth products just weren't up to it. I think I will try this challenge again, but this time I might pick one of the 'bigger' teams (unlike Truro, who were the smallest reputation team I could find after several reloads).

Drew. Lowestoft Town. League Two. 2020/21

Table - Pow! Right in the kisser, after last seasons survival, I wanted to make sure that we were able to consolidate and try and make a push for the play-offs, but the youngsters had different ideas and we managed to win the bloomin' thing.

Squad

Aradavan Dobinson YP1 didn't play at all, and quite frankly, I don't see him winning his place back, will be released.

Glen Franks YP4 solid at the back as usual, will look for more of them same next season.

Ollie Driver YP5 had big boots to fill once Foulkes left, and managed to fill them quite well.

Christian Frew YP6 fantastic season from the youngster, chipped in with a few goals and was a pain in the backside, hoping for more of the same next season.

Kenny Stockwell YP7 had an okay season, hasn't progressed as much as I had hoped, but there's always time for him.

Tony Ennis YP8 superb season, he was like a terrier in midfield, always chasing things and breaking up play.

Luke Southgate YP9 played well in the games he was given, should be given more next season.

I want to start too, but i have a question

After your holliday season how do u know which teams u can take?

There is one very easy way, if you haven't added any graphics to the game, any team that comes up wont have an official badge, whilst the original teams do.

If you have added graphics, then check who was relegated from the BSP and move into the BSS or BSN and then look at the BSS or BSN table and see who wasn't there before apart from the BSP teams.

FC United of Manchester - Season 2012/2013 Overview

160px-FC_United.png

The "Norton bug" and "1-2 syndrom".

The League.

Media Prediction: 21st

Finished: 16th

Well... A stupid calendar was the main problem for me and my players. We had to play 7-8 games against lower table teams followed by 7-8 games against promotion candidates. Morale went low, poor results etc. Maybe I played with a bad tactic (smth like a ladder), maybe poor team instructions... Or maybe my players are not that good after all... The biggest problem was the "1-2 syndrom" - nine times we lost with this score! I was mad, really mad... Really hope for a better season, my youth intake wasn't that bad.

FA Cup.

Lost to some stupid "Woodley Sports" 2-3... Dissapointing.

FA Cup

FA Trophy.

More disappointment here - 2-2 home and 1-2 away in Replay. Not good...

FA Trophy

The players.

And here comes the "Norton bug". His name is Mike Norton. He is our main striker. He missed 5 games because of an injury. He scored 12 goals in his first 12 games. He scored 19 goals in 37 games... Terrific start and a disastrous ending... Matty Wolfenden also helped us not to finish in the relegation zone with his 15 goals in 42 games.

We also have one problem - Matthew Boland is out of contract, he doesn't want to sign a new contract but he is still with our club... I'm not sure about his future at the club... We really need him.

Most goals: Mike Norton (19)

Most assists: Matthew Boland (11)

Fans Player of the Year: Mike Norton

Youth Intake.

Not a bad Youth Intake, could have been a lot worse. Due to having problems with old players in the First Team I signed 4 youngsters. Hope they will be good enough to help us get promoted within the next 2-3 seasons. Maybe I can sell one of them in the future. But I really need those youngsters, I have two 30+years defenders and Mike Norton is 32 already...

Chester 2013/14 Season

Not one I particularly want to dwell on, I had a poor preseason, not getting in many wins or money so the squad was not ready for the season! I had also made a mistake of setting a large pitch, at the time I thought it was a great idea but being a bottom of the table club you just can’t risk it! Went into the season not finding many wins by the last game of the season I was in the bottom 4, level on points with the team above me, a draw was enough to see me stay up but it is not an experience I want again!

TABLE SQUAD TRANSFERS[/url]

Changes to the first team:

Anotni Sarcevic started to work his way into the first team, when I joined the club he was my 5th place CM, he had 4.5 star potential but only half star ability. Second season he reached one whole star and by the end of this season he was working at 2.5 stars, overtaking all the other midfielders who were slowly declining. He played 37 games for the club, albeit most from the bench. Next season he will lead the midfield hopefully to a successful campaign.

Jamie Rainford made a good impression last season while Simm was injured and the same happened again, Simm got a long term injury and his ability seriously deteriorated and Rainford stepped in. With 26 league goals he was the second top scorer in the league despite our poor season. He was running at 2 star potential and actual ability at the start of the season which rose half a star by the end, proved them coaches wrong! Let’s hope this prolific striker provides more of the same again!

Liam Brownhill was a superb backup last season but Wes Baynes seriously deteriorated as a player over the year, Brownhill stepped in his place and was amazing. I let Baynes go at the end of the season as his wage was too high and he was no longer deserving of it. Hopefully Brownhill continues to progress.

Youth intake

A GREAT season for youth. I was starting to worry about who will replace Brain in goal and this guy comes a long, Daniel O’Toole YP02, He will sit on my bench this season and if things go well in the cup he may even claim a spot there!

Also good news on the striker front as Malcolm Jones YP03 appears on the scene again 5 star potential what could such great players bring?

Youth Update

Robert Carter YP01 started a few games and likely to start more next season! 1.5 star ability means he is 3rd MC in the squad. Look out first team!

Last Season Targets

· Avoid Relegation [COMPLETED]

· Improve finances/ Reduce wage bill (from £12.7k p/w :O to 6k) [iNCOMPLETE (Down to 8k)]

· Improve youth recruiting once more [iNCOMPLETE Due to poor finances]

· Improve youth facilities (Currently rented) [iNCOMPLETE Due to poor finances]

· Retain current first team squad in the transfer window. [COMPLETED]

Maybe things didn’t go to plan on the money front but at least I am still in the same league! On another note we are now semi pro again to reduce costs, oh well!

Next Season Targets

· Mid table finish (above 15th)

· Improve finances/ Reduce wage bill (from £8k p/w to 6k)

· Improve youth recruiting once more

· Improve youth facilities (Currently rented)

· Retain current first team squad in the transfer window.

· Get 3 current youth players into the first team squad

Stothy, not the best of seasons, but the main thing is you survived! All you need is for a good year with youth-intake and you can leave this season behind :)
Oh this next season is already going better. Had a friendly league with very large rep clubs and wiped off the 250k debt we were in and gained an extra 250k as well! Then played some easy friendlies for a morale boost (despite a 1-1 draw with derby and 1-0 losses with other clubs) Went into the season not expecting much so I replaced some older members of the squad with youngsters and Low and behold after nearly 10 games it looks like I am challenging for the play offs with only 1 loss! I think the mistakes I made last season were:

I had 3 very attacking tactics, not good for a club who hasn't got the best players!

I had a large pitch same reason as above

And I relied to heavily on one set of players I am brining in more rotation this season.

Bury Town - Season 2 2013-2014

End of Season Update

League Table - A good season overall was capped off by the championship and promotion to the BSP. We carried our league form to decent successes in the cups, reaching the first round proper in the FA cup and the second round in the FA trophy.

Squad - A group effort this time around, everyone got into the action and produced when we needed. There won't be too much change for next year as only two players have expressed an unwillingness to negotiate a new contract.

Youth Intake - Not that great of a group once again, but that's to be expected as the team doesn't have much finances to speak of for upgrading facilities. Lewis Miller got the YP02 tag. He's not that great of a prospect, but does fill the need of having an additional left footed winger since my 30 year old striker has gotten hit with the bug of always retraining as a AMC instead of the AMR that I want him to :(

Finances - As mentioned previously, not really much to see here. Even the big money friendlies/cups I try to schedule in the preseason only net me a 20k profit per game.

Transfers - Here's the transfers at the end of the season

Since its always more fun to stop on a high note, I think I'm going to take a break from this as well. Probably go back to trying to raise a low ranked country up the ladder. I imagine I'll be back for some BSP action soon enough though.

New youth-intake and I have to say i'm extremely shocked! Although the intake was a bit disappointing after last seasons fantastic overall intake, i've received a player who has been described as having the potential to be a Premier League player! I wont be revealing anything else untill the end of the season!

Alright, after failing to keep minows Truro from relegation after 3 seasons (on FM11), I am determined to try again, this time with one of the 'bigger' reputation clubs available!

I've had a look on the editor, and noticed that off all the eligible clubs, Sailisbury has by far the biggest rep / best players - however, they are also the only professional club, and a bit of research shows that they were a BSP side until recently, when administration saw them moved to the Zamaretto League (lv 7).

What are your thoughts on taking charge of this team? Whilst they are eligible per the rules (on FM11), do you see this as against the spirit of the challenge?

I feel for sure that I am missing out on something here.

In all 4 of my pre-seasons so far, the only 'big' clubs who show up on the list of teams available to chose as friendly opponents start with B (Birmingham 30k receipts, Blackburn, Bolton and Bristol City all at 20k receipts).

If I try and set up a league with 3 of these 4 clubs I will only get around 70k (and then have to pay their appearance fees out of it).

How are you guys able to make so much money from pre-season friendlies and leagues?

Is my game bugged somehow?

Do you guys search for teams not listed in the drop down menus when creating a friendly?

Starting to hurt for cash and if I am missing something here, would be great to learn it in time for next pre-season :D
