ArturBoruc
I am Annan Athletic and I have just gained promotion to the SPL,we are in okay finances but I have not had a penny to spend on transfers since I started yet the board have just announced that they are building a new £7 million stadium and £2.2 million on under soil heating. Doing this had now put us in some major debt and I'm sitting asking myself what was the point in that?,the board could of gave me the funds to attemp to strengthen our squad and just shared a ground with another spl club for a season until we became spl worthy. Coentrao
It must have been because of the league requirements, the alternative of ground sharing so you don't get into debt it's probably not programmed in the game.
ArturBoruc
I thought it was for the league requirements but now the board has put us in rotten dent doing that is stupid on their behalf.
Mike J
Yes, the SPL has certain stadium requirements (undersoil heating and 10,000 seats I think). It's caused problems IRL as well and is a largely ridiculous requirement given average attendnaces.
Things Could Get Messi
I have seen ground shares on previous versions of FM but not this one. You do need to meet certain criteria to be promoted to the SPL including I think a minimum 6k capacity stadium and under soil heating.
Welshace
yep... they had no choice.. and look at the big picture... a new stadium will generate income on its own.. just stay up and control your wages tightly ... you will get out of debt tbh.. its part of the challenge of promotion... its not a problem
fleety620
Even if it wasn't an SPL requriement, it's not like ridiculously over-ambitious chairmen don't exist in the real world: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-17584071 This for a club that barely manages to pull in crowds of 5k when they are challenging for a play-off place.... Nobby_McDonald
It's either expand the stadium, build a new one, or ground share to meet SPL stadia requirements. It was Gretna's groundshare when they reached the SPL along with Miles Brookson's health issues which prevented him from continuing his financial backing that led to their demise.
