DazRTaylor
MID SEASON REVIEW A fantastic season so far though there is still a long way to go. Champions League On paper we had quite an easy group having been paired with German champions Borussia Dortmund, the Russian side Rubin Kazan and finally Swiss outfit Young Boys of Bern. In reality it proved to be simple enough as we won all our games with the exception of the away match in Germany, where we lost narrowly, 2-1. We have a tough draw in the first knockout round having been paired with another German side, Bayern Munich, with the first leg in Germany. League Champions for the past seven years, Paris Saint Germain are nowhere this season and it looks lime a straight fight between us and Marseille. I would normally expect the team who has won as many games as we have to be ahead by a country mile but so far, Marseille have kept pace. Our only loss was away to...Marseille. Coupe de France We enter in the ninth round and we have been drawn to play fourth tier side USJA Carquefou, away from home. Coupe de la Ligue I entered the competition in the fourth round, which is the round of sixteen and we hammered fellow top flight side Le Mans, 4-0 at home. We have been drawn against another Ligue 1 outfit, Valenciennes, in the quarter final at home. PLAYERS Not a lot wrong with my squad so I don't see the need in signing many. Players In Just the one new signing, a player I agreed to buy a year ago, but he couldn't move due to his age. One of the most versatile players I have ever seen as he is equally adept in four positions. Players Out One big departure in that I agreed to sell 29 year old Italian international Franco Rolando to Manchester City for £40m. Although a terrific player, he is 29, I have more than good enough replacements already and I feel £40m is a great deal for us.

DazRTaylor
END OF SEASON REVIEW SEASON 2031-32 Champions League A fantastic competition for us! FC Bayern were surprisingly defeated with ease (4-1 away, 2-1 at home, 6-2 on aggregate) in the first knockout round, Chelsea (3-0 away, 3-0 at home, 6-0 on aggregate) in the quarter final and Valencia (4-1 at home, 3-0 away, 7-1 on aggregate) in the semi final which meant a first Champions League final for Olympique Lyonnais since they were runners up to Tottenham Hotspur twelve seasons ago. The game itself was quite exciting with Barcelona scoring after 9 minutes. Cesar Marronkle equalised after 20 minutes and goal machine Beto putting us ahead just before half time, after 43 minutes to give us a 2-1 half time lead. Barcelona rallied in the second period and they drew level after 58 minutes as Englishman Bradley Pavey got his second of the game. I brought Bradley Pavey through the youth ranks at Arsenal so it was pleasing, in a warped kind of way, to see him perform at the top level. No further scoring meant extra time and penalties. The shootout was heartbreaking as the pressure clearly got to my side and we missed three of the four we took as Barcelona overcame us 3-1. League Marseille, who were keeping up with us at the mid season review, soon dropped away and the league title became a formality. Our first title for eight years and a positive goal difference of over a hundred goals! Coupe de France Victories against fourth tier sides USJA Carquefou (ninth round, 2-0 away) & SR Colmar (tenth round, 4-1 away) & Ligue 2 Orleans Loiret Football (eleventh round, 6-0 at home), set up a home quarter final against second tier side Montpellier. Although we played well, we didn't capitalise on our chances, whereas Montpellier certainly did to surprisingly win 2-1. So no trophy defence this season! Coupe de la Ligue Victories against fellow Ligue 1 sides in the quarter final (Valenciennes, 5-3 at home) & semi final (Paris Saint Germain, 2-0 at home) made sure we progressed to the final and a date with another Ligue 1 outfit in OGC Nice. A dour game in which we dominated resulted in a 0-0 draw at the end of extra time, but we won 5-4 on penalties to lift the minor trophy. PLAYERS Player of the Season Emmanuel Zwane was sensational all season. Absolutely sublime. Special Mention Beto scored a bagful with his head and was a rock at the back. Any other season he would be my Player of the Season, but Emmanuel Zwane was on another planet.

Karnage94
Over a couple of days I've read this from start to finish and what a read it's been. Fantastic work and really well done on that season with Lyon and unlucky with the big cups. I don't think I've ever managed to score that many goals in a season and to concede so few at the same time so kudos to you. I'm going to guess that next season you will be hoping to get a clean sweep of trophies next season?

DazRTaylor
SEASON 2030-31 PREVIEW Media Prediction - 2nd. My Expectation - 1st. As defending champions, we must aim to retain. Transfer Budget - £50,000,000. Wage Budget - £2,328,134 per week. As I am currently spending less than £1.2m per week, I have scope to add to the squad should I feel the need. PLAYERS Players In Younger players were recruited with an eye on the future. Mikel Martin - Spanish central midfielder arriving from Real Madrid. Jonathan Hillerby - Versatile young English player who can play at centre half, defensive midfield or central midfield. Signed from Newcastle United. Tommy Hucker - Another young Englishman, this striker started his football life at Arsenal. Trevor Gibson - This lad completes my hat trick of young English signings. Predominantly an attacking midfielder, he comes to Lyon from Sheffield Wednesday. Sasa Gasparevic - This 15 year old Serbian central defender can also play at right back. Signed for a bargain £180,000 from Red Start Belgrade. Players Out The only departure was a major one, Beto who was unsettled. He was sold for £46m plus a 20% sell on clause. DazRTaylor
I have accepted the England job after a lot of thought. DazRTaylor
After 16 league games, I have conceded just two goals. Two. I am finding the ease of winning game after game a little tiresome to say the least. So I may take a new challenge, should I get such an offer. Nottingham Forest are currently bottom of the Blue Square Premier. Blackburn Rovers are fifth from bottom of the Blue Square South. To name but two. I will persist at Lyon though, until such a challenge becomes available, as it is better than being unemployed.

DazRTaylor
MID SEASON REVIEW A fantastic season so far though there is still a long way to go. Champions League Another straightforward group campaign. We won the group with relative ease, having drawn Germans Borussia Dortmund again, together with surprise Italian qualifiers Atalanta and Serbian side Partizan Belgrade. The highlight was a 5-1 win in Germany. We are due to play my former side, Ipswich Town, in the first knockout round with the first leg at Portman Road. League A very comfortable campaign so far, especially in defence. I feel we will win the league at a canter. Coupe de France We enter the competition in the ninth round and we have been drawn to play third tier AC Arles-Avignon, away from home. Coupe de la Ligue Entering in the fourth round, my young reserves beat top flight Valenciennes 4-2 at home to set up a quarter final tie at second tier Stade Malherbe Caen. PLAYERS I am more than happy with my squad, so I have no plans for any major signings or departures. Players In No one! Players Out No one!
