BP_Doosra
Brendan being the only one left on a youth contract is a bit disappointing - is it because he's still 16? Although despite that it's good to see he's putting in some good performances for the under 18's. KUTGW
~Ian~
Aye, Jones it still 16, when he turns 17 in June I think he'll be offered a contract then. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I did have the player of the season nominee post typed up, and uncharacteristically did it on here rather than Word. So of course, Internet Explorer decided to crash this time and lose it. So here's just the list, without the overviews. PLAYER OF THE SEASON - Matthew Hunt - Rick Adicell - Paul McDyess - Adie Riccel - Brian Greene - Oly MacGreene - Paddy O'Doors Vote... NOW!

~Ian~
EUROPEAN UNDER 21 CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009 GROUP STAGES Italy 4 - 1 Wales Jones made his international debut, but struggled against a stronger side and older opponents. Did okay with the ball at his feet but struggled to win tackles. Wales 2 - 0 Russia Jones played again, his second match in close succession and did better than the first time, as the whole team played better to combine for the win. Picked up a booking for time-wasting, preventing a Russian free-kick from being taken. Greece 0 - 3 Wales A third game for Jones, another win, and a better performance again. Played in a five-man midfield and did well defending as well as going forward, and created the first goal, lofting a free-kick forward for an attacked to run onto and shoot. Denmark 0 - 1 England McDyess played well in this game, but steady rather than spectacular. Made a lot of interceptions. SEMI-FINALS Wales 1 - 0 England McDyess was left out here, as Jones’ Wales knocked England out. Jones played okay, but nothing special on the right wing rather than central midfield. FINAL Denmark 0 - 0 Wales (2-0 pens) Jones came on after an hour to play on the right wing, and while his passing had a 90% accuracy rate, the full 120 minutes were goalless. Jones took the decisive fourth penalty, but his effort was saved by Stenild in goal, and Wales end the tournament as runners-up. TOURNAMENT STATS Brendan Jones Wales Under 21: Appearances 4 (1), Goals 0, Assists 1, MoM 0, Yellows 0, Reds 0, Average Rating 7 Paul McDyess England Under 21: Appearances 1, Goals 0, Assists 0, MoM 0, Yellows 0, Reds 0, Average Rating

BP_Doosra
Amazing that Wales made the final and that they beat England along the way. Pity about Brendan's penalty but other than that and the Italy game it was a good tournament overall for both Brendan and Wales.
